I stalked him into Walk of Echos and sword proc was pretty shitty highest was 30 (only caught 3 in log 14, 20, 30) - the group he was in wiped pretty badly if some one wants to talk him on bahamut go for it.
There's not a hell of a lot to discuss in respect to that either. The gain of 4 base damage and 11 Blue Magic attack is almost completely negated by the STR loss. Using the low end that you listed (18 STR) and discounting WSC, that's already a loss of 4 fSTR and a gain of only 2 blue magic attack.
What body piece is that?
Loki's Kaftan.
Town gear im hoping though some other pieces look suspect.
edit: beaten Q.Q
Yes indeed, had came to the conclusion almost immediately after getting to the hand armor. Better than listening to Battery Charge sillyness.
Oh snap, a Tonko post in FFXI forum.
Whoosh indeed. Teach me to moderate a reported post just after waking up.
And yes, I'm playing again. having alot of fun too.
was thinking about that i really dont want to give it up ; ; the fact that its piercing and a hot poison effect is a lot to give up
was thinking of possible future big spells fang rush and deadly drive be cool, but i'll ask a question i asked earlier in case anyone missed it
anyone see a damage increase from the meh dd spells coming close to big 3 status? I mean the ones at later levels or possibly vert. cleave gaining a smaller gap versus big 3 non SA?
havent had much time to myself to test
For me, CA Vertical Cleave usually produces better dmg than the big three on mobs with no damage bonuses. This was the same for before the update to 80 though
gear/merits if you didnt mind? i think it's possible i'm just better geared for big 3 than vert cleave only thing that'd bother me is the accuracy loss as SA spells are a tad inaccurate ie casting with less str for more acc then again the only acc i need merited is phys potency (2/5)
Vertical Cleave should also be approaching its D cap as well. We need new 75+ physical spells, praying for them today.
Spell caps on BLU magic will be increased for spells. Whether this applies to physical magic or just stuff like stoneskin is to be seen.
Lets see here:
Frenetic Rip: L78
Hysteric Barrage: L84
Disseverment: L87
Vertical Cleave: L90
Due to how Frenetic Rip was implemented, it still has some mileage up to 90~ish imo. Vertical Cleave will technically be good up until 92ish as well, unless something else is added and trumps it. Disseverment is still ok until 99. Hysteric Barrage however, will get boned and likely replaced soon.
You say obviously, but then why do I see 99% of BLUs dropping their CA on disseverment for a small gain? Since he referred to V.Cleave as meh without SA, seems to me he would be one of those BLUs. Why not CA vertical Cleave and then cast a non-CA Diss?
I'm just trying to point out to him that IMO V.Cleave closed this gap already..
If I need alot of Dmg fast (non-SA as stated by him) I would go:
CA Vert.Cleave
Diss
Frene
Repeat.
Everyone else I see goes:
CA Diss
Frenetic Rip
Hysteric Barrage
Repeat.
I think my method already outdmgs the second method, even without adding in the 4th spell. So to return to his post, at least one of the "SA" spells already does sick dmg without it.
Sorry, I probably sound like I'm being a dick, but I guess the term "Big 3" gets my nickers in a bunch, it should be "Big 4"....IMO
