What's to say Diamondhide wouldnt be bolstered by having a SJ that offers enhancing skill ?

They're said to, but that makes no sense at all. It's most likely those SJs having higher mnd.

I just went out on rdm/blu to try out poison breath.

1126/1126 was 140 damage.

1126/1221 was 140 damage.

1221/1221 was 150 damage.

Poison breath, at least, deals damage based on current hp, NOT based on max hp. I would assume that other breath attacks follow this pattern as well but my blu isn't high enough to try any of them.

Now go do the same thing, and include with and without water staff/moldavite/etc etc. Purely max HP based, or just a factor?

Just to comment on breaths:

I've tried with HQ elemental staves, Amplification/Memento Mori, MAB gear, Magic Bursting:

Neither affect max breath damage. MB'ing and HQ staves affect resist rate but thats it.

Disseverment is w/o doubt Piercing damage. Did about 200 dmg to a DC skeleton.

Pretty sure Disseverment doesn't add poison even for aerns. Nothing is mentioned about it in the description.

Ah, that would explain why it's kinda weak. Frenetic Rip seem to do more dmg but is lower MP.

a blu in my ls mentioned that the poison was somewhere in the vicinity of 15/tick, which is half as strong again as poison 2 O_O whether or not he tested or was just saying off the top of his head "wow thats strong poison, probably about 15 a tick" i dont know, but its not weak in any event.

I meant the dmg itself from Disseverment, not the poison. I formulated that a bit weird. The dmg seem to be same as Frenetic Rip, if not lower but it costs more MP. I havn't had them both for very long so I can't say for sure yet. Though as I said, it's obviously piercing dmg so it's a situational spell.

oh yeah, i wasnt saying that you meant the poison was weak, I was just talking generally, in that the poison might be as strong as 15/tick which is ultimately by far the best DoT in the game from a spell.

Saw that picture of Batosai doing 1000+ on a Tavnazian Ram..I wonder if the description is completely wrong? Maybe it mods damage on TP. If it's wrong on the poison...makes you wonder how many things are also off.

Also,Cannonball seems to have some really fucked up damage mod or the description might also be wrong.

my 75 blu friend and i got brenner and tested all the spells.

dissenervment is 18 a tick poison
cold wave is 18 a tick frost but it wears fast
reactor cool was 14 a hit
plasma charge was 15 a hit
the molech def down move only took off 27 def

Its probably based off of a %, what was defense prior, and was that person wearing any buffs?
