Anyone know what the +2 set bonus: augments blue magic does?

As an aside, I formally request fellow BLUs to not abbreviate everything, because people saying "I like to BT then CA GR with CDC for light and I can BA AD which sticks well when you have MB+1" really gets on my nerve.

Using Goblin Rush on self skillchain if you want pure damage its in my opinion just lots of laugh. Goblin Rush gets only accuracy from tactical points and Quadratic Continuum itself does more damage then Goblin Rush + Light. Benthic Typhoon is in my opinion very good spell and its a lot better then Vanity dive to spam with Quadratic Continuum and Goblin rush especially if you start combo with Benthic and gets more damage on other two from defense down. Using Voracious Violet + Minikin Monstrosity my Typhoon does same damage as Vanity so I only cast Dive when mob has like 5% hit points and for magic points efficiency I use it to finish it.

Seeing how other set augments works I think BLU probably does that same which is occasionally boost dmg on spell (with very rare proc). I wonder when we gonna see 10K Quadratic on normal mob

Studio Gobli's reporting set bonus as being a 3x multiplier to WSC, unknown how it stacks with CA. Nothing on procrate.

Too bad the only time we'll be casting in 2+ pieces at present is with CA active for the bonus on the head :\ Will likely be a very uncommon sight, at least until December.

When I get head + legs I will probably cast all physical in those just to see it proc at least once :D

After been away from the game for about a year then coming back to start a new char i seemed to have lost my blu rhythm what spells do you guys normally equip now? my list is normally

Auto refresh (Plasma and actinic)
Double attack
then filled with random spells (QD BT head butt GR Plenilune embrace and so forth)
would someone mind giving me a few helpful tips

(yes i know random question thread but i wanted to have someone give me a good idea and not sdome half soaked idea's what they think a blu should use when they don't play it themselves)

Auto refresh (Plasma and actinic)
Double attack
then filled with random spells (QD BT head butt GR Plenilune embrace and so forth)

Depends on support for me. I normally set a lot of my DD spells when I have a RDM, auto refresh, conserve MP, fast cast if tanking something big, and then stack on all the DD spells I can (I get a lot of mp back).

plenuine embrace is ok if you're mainhealing on blu for some reason I mean light staff and everything but otherwise it's ineffecient compared to magic fruit (30mp just for 100more hp and the spells follow the same cure formula)

magic fruit costs less and it can be spammed PE can't even with animating wail on nowhere near as fast


Doing some tests with Hannbal Blade melee and with MM atma(without battery charge) I have to try pretty hard to run out of mp and I'm probrably using spells about...twice or 1.5 times as fast as I normally use them. This was against carbosse, ovni; not abbsyea exp yet.

Granted I have no finished magian swords just firm +1 x 2 to keep in mind; I think it's very possible to be a point where blu can simply have too much refresh I didnt even put battery charge on myself and I'm still good on mp

My basic starting spell-set looks something like:

Head Butt {3}

Plenuine Embrace {4}

Battery Charge {3}

Disseverment {5}
Vanity Dive {2} [Accuracy Bonus]

Quadratic Continuum {4}
Animating Wail {5} [Dual Wield] (Though I would have these 2 set even if they didn't give that trait]

Actinic Burst {4}
Plasma Charge {5} [Auto-Refresh] (This one may very well be obsolete with Atmas these days)

Goblin Rush {3}
Benthic Typhoon {4} [Skillchain Bonus] (Once again, I would likely set these spells anyway. The trait is an added bonus)

Sub-Zero Smash {4}
Aural Drape {4} [Fast Cast]

That set will cover 50/50. If you have Assimilation merits capped, then you have 5 more points to throw around in whatever.

NOTE: The above spell set is not optimized for ANYTHING. It is an all around set that allows you to be mostly self sufficient in XP or face-to-face soloing situations (read: easy shit). A ton of points can be freed up depending on your support and what kinda fights you're doing.

Other traits that may suit your style more include:

Demoralizing Roar {4}
Blazing Bound {3} [Double-Attack]

Battle Dance {3}
Uppercut {3} [Attack Bonus]

Memento Mori {4}
Sound Blast {1}
or
Heat Breath {4} [Magic Attack Bonus] (Useful for boosting Sanguine Blade damage)

Obviously, there are plenty more job traits that are suitable for various situations,

Moved HMP gear, and merged Sanguine Blade and Whirl of Rage sets into one, so I walk around with a ton of MND always in Abyssea >< lol. However, as all people from Carbuncle know, I am probably the slowest NA to any event due to no space on my character. XD
