The damage drop off is because attack doesn't help blu spells, so mobs with higher defense hurt blu spell damage more than they hurt WS damage where you can take advantage of attack buffs.

This. Some spells have a pDIF boost, but it's really not enough given how low our attack is.

TP feed is a fairly big issue as well, to the point where I've started building a set that will cap Subtle Blow with Auspice at 90. I'd really like to see them tweak spell TP mechanics though.

I remember hearing subtle blow couldn't touch blu spells but no idea where I heard it, was just stated as "tested" and went "ok, not that I'd build a subtle blow set for blu anyway" and left it at that.

Also wanted to throw an idea out there, with Efflux now, anyone merit Chain Affinity recast (or think it'd be worth it)? Always found magic acc lackluster, and now we get a ton of it anyway. 1m40 CA recast puts it at *almost* half of Efflux, for easier use of combining the 2 every time Efflux is up.

I did Chain Affinity merits, and I haven't regretted it yet. Even if you don't keep up with TP gain, the boost that CA gives to spells is typically far more than our WSs are likely to put out, so I generally ride the timer unless I'm ~1 melee round from having TP. Of course, this is in a spam situation where you aren't likely to get a solo Skill Chain off, as the SC damage probably would be worth waiting for. It all depends on how fast you're able to get TP.

And yeah, it lines up with Efflux pretty nicely.

Subtle Blow does in fact affect blue magic spells. I'm not sure who started that rumour, but it most certainly is false

Yeah I've been thinking of dropping my macc merits for CA recast, not much use for macc anymore for the way I play. In the past couldn't go spam happy with spells like you can now so I had to use various ones like breath spells and others but not so much anymore unless to proc grellow !!.

This alone is reason enough to not pop your Seal/Card/Jewel mobs on Thunder/Light/Dark days.

It's 40% bonus on water attacks VS MAB+30

It might be indeed better to use Kuku's Atma for Regurgitation, no doubt about it.

Should I be using Cuchulain's or Smilodon+1 for multihits? I have all the relevant merits, and I typically use sushi for anything above T (could probably go to the higher end of VT, but I prefer to err on the side of caution.) I've started phasing out stuff like Potent Belt for Warwolf, and Suppa for Triumph etc, but this one is a bit more iffy cause the tradeoff is only 1 STR and I get a ton of other good stats.

On that line of thought, I also can't decide if I wanna give up Enkidu hands for Alkys and Chiv chain for Ire/+1. Where do I draw the line with throwing away acc for bigger numbers? I doubt I would use RR (or any other atma that helps my acc). I intended to use VV and MM once I get em, and I was gonna go with 2 STR Shamshir, but that plan was made with my acc heavy gear in mind. Should I perhaps look into a dex/acc shamshir?

Hmm, Morrigan's Cuffs or Yigit Gages for Regurgitation? Managed to get +1 Feet earlier and I've also got the Water+ Atmas. With Gages I'm +55 INT and +32 MND with swords on. Light on MATK for now with +19 or +22 depending on the gloves.

I have one, just didn't have it in my inventory when I was slapping my gear together after trading in seals for boots. Numbers weren't including my Phantom Tathlum, either. Need to fetch a better neck for MATK. Rarely low on MP anymore for Uggy to proc, but can't bring myself to shell out the price for Lam with updates looming. Morgana's Choker is there for now for secondary MND.

I think someone mentioned low proc rate on 2-3x multiplier on 2nd modifier/s on spells ( Like Chain Affinity ).

I know I said I saw 1000 Needles proc before on a resist, but it might've been one of those overlap situations. As is, it's pretty much the only spell you actually need to worry about since everything else should at least do 1 damage unless I've missed some mechanic that says a spell must be fully unresisted to count. Since I just spam-cast the 6 needed spells for a pop in my haste gear, I'd imagine I've had a good deal of partial resists on the spells that do trigger, but I've also never sat down to try and optimize them all so I could guess when a resist did happen.

Assuming doing damage is all that counts here, I'm hoping SE revises 1000 Needles to do like 80/250/500/1000 depending on resists. Bad enough the spell takes over 90s to recast while being probably our longest casting spell where nobody ever listens to me when I ask to stop doing damage so I can at least guarantee it won't go off during a TP move.

I tell the people in my Ls I will dock them DKP if they force the mob to TP during 1000 Needles.
