There was some testing a while back on alla that pointed strongly to both skill/macc and INT affecting Head Butt's stun effect. Don't recall how it worked out regarding procing vs duration or anything though, been a while since I looked over it.

INT? The only test I know of is someone changing to BLM with INT gear and testing HB's landing and duration. It suggested that INT did NOT affect HB.

I know I had more success on the stun effect from Headbutt on 40cap Diablos with +INT earrings/gear when I did it years ago.

Hmm. I want to say dINT factored in perfectly concerning macc, but again it's been a while. I'll try to find it.

In a more curious direction, since trials are here to stay , is there a point where the macc on those sword are big enough to outweight carrying the 8 HQ staves? ( Yes, I realize the damage bonus the HQ staves gives but I seem to recall charged whisker post about capped mab, so just pure macc standpoint.)
Well, the point I was making is that macc doesn't affect physical blue spells. And even if it did, you could just use a physical accuracy sword in place of the macc one and gain the benefit of physical spell accuracy and sword accuracy. The one redeeming area for macc swords are indeed head butt for the sake of proccing the added effect, but like the others I'm not sure where the testing is.

Re: macc swords vs. HQ staves, HQ staves are equivalent to 30 macc, and indeed with the latest update macc swords are +15 each, so you could use 2 of them and presumably have equivalent magical accuracy, not to mention +150mp. Maybe in a solo situation in which you don't want to lose sanguine tp while casting enfeebles they may come in handy, but there is no evidence that MAB caps on magical blue spells, so staves are still superior.

Staves don't give MAB, why would any cap matter in regards to them?

Heh, also an excellent point. Affinity being independent of MAB further increases their utility.

I did testing on Head Butt about a year ago now. Nothing can increase the potency [read:duration] of Head Butt's additional effect. All MACC/Skill/INT helps with is landing the Stun, the duration is a random number between 0.5~5 seconds. On topic, the stun effect is lightning-based, just like how magnetite cloud's gravity is wind based, and blastbomb's bind is ice based.

Macc/lightning acc does help out addition effect proc rate on our spell. Notice this when I was using turul atma before scar came out.

    but to save headache

just scratch out macc swords unless you really rely on that for hb to land either you're spamming it too much on an nm and it's building resistance too fast like most or you can make up the macc with gear in other slots very easily

The Wyvern in Grauberg is an easy Duo for hands. But it's got a Russian Roulette kinda thing going on with Hurricane Breath.. sometimes it does 1k or less, sometimes it does 5k+, and other times it does about 2500 and knocks off some gear(not all). Seems like a 25% change it will even use it in the first place.

Fought 12, Died to 3, (5k Hurricane Breath) as Thf + Rdm Duo. We've gotten 7 Orison, 3 Bale, 1 Unkai, and 5 Mavi so far. Only triggered Green once, and Had a dud drop nothing at all (lol TH...).

The Snoll NM in Ulegrand drops BLU hands and is pretty easy, though it gets a paralyze aura after cold wave.

I found the Mandy NM in Abyssea Altepa to be pretty easy for BLU hand seals. It doesn't do anything particularly dangerous. It would be pretty easy if you turtle tanked it with a healer. It has two TP moves - one that resets TP and another TP move at low HP that inflicts Bad Breath status effects. It also has a relatively potent poison aura, but in general, the mob is really more of an irritation than a danger. I finished my BLU hands there in 2 days.

When using a Brew on Blu, what spells are best to cycle? What's best to use with CA and Efflux etc, what's a good general plan of action to get the most out of it?

Has anyone used one w/ video or screenshots? I've seen plenty of monks and red mages etc so I want to use mine on Blu.

Just got done doing Shinryu using brew, used mostly magical spells, as you'll see from the SS the DD spells just do not cut it.

I did win, even though I healed it SO much.

Its the same for physical/magical WS's though. Brewed Evis does like 3k (SA AC Evis can do 10k), Aeolian Spam does like 8k. I'd presume it gives MAB+999 or something ludicrous like that which is why all the magical WS's get such a huge jump.
