Though out of topic but pretty sure PLD set has relatively high proc rate , while ago I was helping JP PLD who was working on Ochain , he had 5/5 PLD AF3+2 , noticed he would absorb a lot of damage from T3 VNM Levi , at first I thought he was using some kind of atma that helped with absorbing like 1 in every 4~5 hits , asked him , turned out he wasn't using atma , from what I understood it's the set proc .

Just did a small test expecting DEX to not matter for Goblin Rush, went out and smacked bunnies outside sandy, @ 150 STR 104 DEX vs 150 STR 118 DEX, and an odd thing happened. Consistent 380ish damage with the higher DEX....but average 470 range with the lower dex...for switching out DEX I offhanded a VIT magian and Spiral Ring...so I want to say there might be a VIT mod but I'm unexperienced in testing these things. Anyone done full testing for the mods? Posted a while ago wiki was saying str30 dex30 and I coulda swore it has said mnd was a mod, which would make a difference whether to use Rajas/Spiral, Pyrosoul/Spiral, or Pyro x2...

From dmg I'm assuming you did it w/o sneak attack.
pdif will varies from 1.6 to 2.4 and with 30% mod 14dex is just 1.25*14*0.3*0.85*pdif = ~7-10. 7-10 dmg from that dex wouldnt even be noticed unless maybe in sample of 1000 tries. 380 with higher was just low pdif and 470 was high spike. It has nothing to do with mods. I went now to test it myself and will post result in 30 min.

bees, outside bastok, chain affinity, sneak attack:
a) STR89 DEX79 VIT120 MND67 - 677 661 732 690 732 718 711
b) STR88 DEX129 VIT81 MND67 - 866 796 835 886 757 (5% crit dmg from loki's)
c) STR89 DEX78 VIT73 MND146 - 692 677 717 692
d) STR141 DEX79 VIT88 MND70 - 777 818 753 850

Its clearly not VIT or MND and its clearly STR and DEX. I have no time to make exact math but 30% from combined STR+DEX in b) and d) seems to fit good.

I have the +2 set myself. The proc rate is no where near 20%+ with all five. I've trained 12-16 mandies in Abyssea to skill up my shield a few weeks ago. The proc rates were abyssal. We're looking at T-VT mandies and around 5%ish still with all 5.

Your att/def is your Ratio. Once it's level adjusted, that's your cRatio. Your cRatio determines the range of pDIF. At att. cap on a one hander, the minimum is something like approximately 1.57.

Just cause you're attack capped doesn't mean your pdif is 2. It ranges from approximately 1.57-2.45 or something like that before you factor crit +1 bonus.

For melees perhaps, but I haven't heard of it applying to BLU magic. Also, the post you quote misses the cap on ratio itself.

For most spells, Blue "attack" = Blue skill + 8(base) + STR/2

Ranged blue attacks (Feather Storm, Quesyshroom, Pinecone Bomb) work just like Ranged attacks (cap at ratio 3 and crits add 25%)

The rest follow like a one-handed weapon (cap at ratio 2).

A few physical spells have a bonus to the blue "attack" (Goblin Rush, Frenetic Rip, Vanity Dive, couple others).

I did some testing on this a while back and the bonuses that I got to ratio didnt seem to fit with anything else (ie other WS in existence)

Vanity Dive = 1.38
Quadratic Continum = 1.25
Frenetic Rip = 1.38

If anyone else has any thoughts or has tested and come up with different results please post.

I just rocketed BLU from 30 up and now I need to work on spells. I plan to get them all, but what are the ones I should focus on first outside of !! proc spells. I can't see myself using BLU for any events anytime soon, but just in case I wanna get the best ones out of the way.

Hey all, was having a conversation with a friend about Diamondhide and it's new formula/cap. I did a search on the thread for any information, but didn't come up with anything more concrete than (BLU skill x .6) + 20.

Is that the generally accepted formula, or is there a better known formula? If not, what is the current cap, assuming max blu skill and gear. Thanks.
