I was under the impression it didn't.
Anyway for TP set both in and out of Abyssea, would it be worth using Loki's/Zelus over Mavi+2x2 in a situation with high MP. Say set up a spellcast var to use that set when MP >80% or similar value.
More or less 24.61~% haste vs true capped exchanged for the Crit Bonus. This would be with all other slots optimal including Almace, acc capped etc.
Similarly a set for low MP set with Zelus/whichever Serpentes piece is active.
It doesn't
In addition to what Nightfyre said (and I would use even +1 hands over Morrigan's):
Healing set--> Use either Aqua Sachet or a Bibiki Seashell. Both will give the same increase in potency.
Idle---> If you have lots of time to kill, you could try for a refresh hairpin.
Physical set--> Don't use Brutal. Swap to a +STR earring. Depending on your macro and inventory space situation, you may want to individualize your sets more based on which Physical is being cast (I.E. favouring DEX on Vanity Dive and AGI on Benthic)
TP--> Epona's. Pre-Epona's, some like Heed Ring. Keen Ring is also a good and cheap option. You're probably not getting all (and more than likely, none of) the accuracy out of Peacock's Charm, so Tiercel would be good until you can cap haste without it.
Nuking set--> Same as the above. Pre-Hecate's, you could even get a Heims Earring (+1 VIT, +1 INT, +1 STR) as sort of an inventory space saver until you can get some better options.
Vorpal Blade--> Tumbler Trunks
With Almace the Atmas I use depends, If I have a refresher around GH/RR/Apoc, if I don't then its GH/RR/MM this for soloing also. I'm wondering if a haste/STP set for TPing is worth it. I was thinking Zelus and either Taranis harness with Dusk +1/tiercel neck (As theres really no good STp piece here except for chivchain) or keep mavi body and use goading belt along with STP trait as I usually go full melee mode with my Almace BLU.
You can get more numbers on cure from various mnd/vit+ items in hands and feet slot than the cure potency 5%.
I'm getting higher numbers with serpentes than having an extra 20MND (the max from hand/feet) aslong as I have crour buff on.
Hm went and retested it and seems you are right, dunno what happened before.
i always believe +blue magic skill added to healing magic since w/e i do it with or without my blue magic skill, my blue skill set normally adds more then my "oops forgot to re-equip x" times
Those gonna be my sets I use, items in () are upg on which I am still working

Ok inb4:
1. WTF you use AF3+2 for every physical spell even w/o CA:
a) I use no accuracy food and I feel like my acc is not capped
b) Inventory space
c) Chance for set bonus pro
d) a+b)+c) overall wins for me over some little boost to damage
2. Wtf you use af3+2 feet for physical or other items for other things?
- b) + c) from point 1.
What is so terrible is
a) if you feel like you acc isnt capped swap in better acc pieces ( like swapping fort torque for ziel charm, but honestly I don't know why you feel as though your acc isn't capped)
b) you are carrying around better gear choices for those slots, yet say inventory issues are a problem.(And carrying around a spell interrupt set while having inventory issues >.<)
c) already been tested that sacrificing decent gear slots for a shot at set proc is a no-no. That said no reason to cast physical spells in +2 feet.
Ok let's make it longer.
- I use BLU mostly for cleaving, that's why my magical nukes sets are much better.
- My spell interruption set is almost perfect I only need +1 legs for 102% with mageblade and I find it much more useful to carry around in both cleave (If I have a problem to cast dream flower on 20-30 mobs in pdt set) and tanking with almost 100% chance for :ichi casting instead of raising my spells damage by 1-2%
- Since I have Almace/10%DA combo a lot of damage goes from it not spamming spells (I didnt make any math but I am almost sure that spamming spells instead of TPing with aftermath with 31%DA and 18%TA will probably overall lower your damage).
- From what I remember I don't even set disseverment and only use QC/BT and Delta outside.
- My BT set is pretty good because I use it usually to skillchain with CDC.
- I don't see what's wrong with Forti torque on QC/Delta when both have VIT mods.
- You are right AF3+2 feet aren't better overall for damage on physical spells but options here are pretty much very limited. I' am planning to get Setanta's for QC but I am very busy atm.
- I usually sit on 78/80 on BLU and that's with a lot of stuff in satchel.
- I'm not using spellcast and my macro involve equip change + spell so I would need to double all my physical macros for w/o CA and with CA for af3+2 head.
- You forgetting that AF3+2 head is 6% haste which cut recast and improve QC frequency.
- What gear are carry around that is better for some slots?
- I honestly have no idea why you calling "terrible" reducing spell damage by 2%(?) in favor of better recast. On top of that you saying that having very good spell interruption set is not worth over 2% damage boost on spells. WTF... If you happen to have one interruption on :ichi on 3-4min fight and will need to cast it again then you losing more damage then any feet/head pieces change in my sets could give.
- It's strange that so experienced BLU like you can't understand that there are more important things then improving your QC damage from 1500 to 1540.
- In abyssea with Almace only spell worth to cast w/o CA for dmg is probably QC. BT is usually cast for Def down and with CA for skillchain (so af3+2 head is best) and Delta is cast for add effect (and af3+2 feet helps with macc)
- You usually trying to proc yellow in abyssea so have no space to even set something else then QC,Delta,BT for physical spells.
- Outside abyssea I usually spam Delta and I would gladly take advice on equip change for head/feet outside of maat's cap that will significantly improve my damage.
- Please point out more directly what I am doing wrong on which spell because saying I should change forti neck to ziel charm on spells that have 50% VIT mods so I can equip something else for my head slot is pretty much fail because only possible change for head beside maat's would be Aias so in case of QC I'am getting ~1.27 WSC (and maybe fSTR+2 but probably not in abyssea) and losing 6% haste 3 accuracy and 1% chance for set bonus (which probably beats ~1.27WSC alone). In case of Delta it will actually be a lost in WSC, accuracy, haste and set bonus and improve in nothing so I am really wonder if you even thought when you was writing that
- I almost forgot I am Galka so even with my choices I have probably more WSC on most physical spells then You![]()
Good Lord.
[I was gonna quote each - individually and tell you whats generally wrong with things but I got bored and I felt this pretty much covered it.]
You should post your spell set up since I personally never have enough points for BT (Even with Assimilation). Also, I don't see Goblin Rush, which in addition to outclassing Disseverment (Unless you take advantage of the poison which is ~1.9k dmg using wiki numbers), provides a blunt spell and is less points.
Actinic, Plasma
Acrid, Empty
QC, BT, delta
Animating, Battery, Fruit
Whirl, Head butt
Dream flower, Occultation, Winds,
Cocoon, Sting, Fantod
Winds + Actinic gives refresh, so plasma is unnecessary. Sting? No. Cocoon is only useful for burns if you have a decent healer. Fantod is also wasting points outside burn. Not sure why you keep Whirl either. Even though whirl has better fTP, most gear tends to support STR+DEX and you gain 50DEX from RR, so I'm not certain it if beats something like Goblin Rush or Disseverment (Including the poison damage), which are multihits. I add in MAB trait for Sanguine blade and burning as /NIN (Sphere + Sound blast).
Code:Headbutt 3 Disseverment 5 Quad Connundrum 4 Battery Charge 3 Animating Wail 5 Goblin Rush 3 Cure 3 Occultation 3 Actinic 4 Winds 5 SubSmash 4 Auroral 4 Acrid Stream 3 Empty Thrash 3 Sphere 2 Sound 1
@Atoreis Thx
Ok lol you forgetting about that spells give stats XD Like I said imo casting spells like disseverment outside of needing poison from it will just hurt you damage or be equal with just TPing with swords not to mention tp gain for mob (and I'm not talking about damage I will take from those tp moves but harder work on triggering stagger) Following that logic I rather try to improve damage from what I actually use so:
Fantod 2dex(CDC) 2Agi(BT) for 1 point
Plasma 3STR(QC,Delta,fSTR) 3DEX(CDC) for 5 points
Sting 5AGI(BT) for 1 point
Cocoon 3VIT(delta,QC) for 1 point
Whirl 2STR 2DEX for 2 points
That's 7AGI, 3VIT, 7DEX, 5STR for 10 points. I agree Plasma can be probably replaced with Goblin's rush + vanity dive but I still wouldn't cast them. If I cleave I am always on /rdm and I have completely different set.
@Jim I forgot you have Tizona so your ego is probably higher then I could imagine and what you are saying in this thread is saint even w/o any proves...![]()
Wow
what the fuck, is this shit, do you really want me to tear down what you posted just to prove a point ?
Fuck it I'll bite.
And here we go:
Justifying your gimpy sets due to lack of use? if you don't use sets why are you posting them in the first place? If you are in fact using them, why are you not maximizing your damage?
Personally I use a mix and match set of -pdt /interrupt/fastcast in my ichi casting saves inventory space and rarely do I have problems casting ichi.
I don't see a problem with no spamming spells, then again I don't see why you posted this in the first place , but I guess you did to screw up the point you make later by saying you casting in AFIII+2 head to lower the recast timers on spells you aren't spamming?
If you aren't casting Dissevernment why the hell are you posting the set?
[Insert Golf Clap here] a good BT set means you can gimp up the rest, gottcha
I don't see what the problem is either if you're are having acc problems which i guess you are ?!?
You can use morrigan's (which you currently have , you can get +str augmented mederi Brogues or shit even rutters is better then AFIII+2)
Hey, me too, [Put another golf clap here]
I have to honestly say that I probably couldn't play blu without spellcast. Your reaction time to hitting all those macros for all those gear swaps must be fantastic.
I doubt you're casting QC the second its recast timer is up, since you're too busy aftermathing that you really need to lower the recast timer on it that much. And if it really was about the recast timer why wouldn't you swap in AFIII+2 hands for the -12, fact is you don't cause its not worth it to swap -haste/recast gear into DD spell sets cause with an almace you aren't "Spamming spells".
As you point out later Aias for head and Morrigan for feet for QC
I am going to break this down into 2 parts 1) we just covered why you don't really care about recast timer i mean its under 30 second recast anyways, i doubt you're casting it every 20 seconds. And as for the second part if the fight is 3-4 min fight and you're having problems keeping up shadows I feel bad for you.
Was this really a stab at me ? I mean really? ( I cover why the 40 damage is "important in the>You won't be casting it while its up portion of my post)
Trying to justify those AFIII+2 feet again eh?And again if you are only casting spells with CA active then there's no problems with using AFIII+2 head ironically enough, you still don't have to worry about recast if you're casting shit only with CA
Okay you and every other blu?!?(I don't see the point in this statement really?)
I pointed out earlier at least 2 swaps you should be using.
I dunno you're the one claiming acc problems here. personally I use str neck I was just throwing that out as an example of something you could do if you really had acc problems which again I don't know why you do? (on a side note after looking at your spell selection if you are having problems with acc maybe you should set the trait?!)
What is the point of this honestly ?
Even I TL : DR.
