GR->Quad->Benthic could be fun if we're able to make 3 parters.
    SZ->Benthic->Quad could be even better.

EDIT: could you keep going in a circle with the level 2s? so GR->Quad->SZ->Benthic->GR->Quad->SZ...etc...

Then I guess for potential MBs:
Whisker, Grudge, Acrid Stream, Thermal Pulse, Regurgitation are the only ones that come to mind.
The problem is that you have a limit of 6 spells to use (5 skillchains total) where skillchains cap out.
If you have Almace/WoE, your best option is to double light off CdC (Grav > Frag > Fusion > Light > Light)

Quad. Cont > Cannonball > Benhic Typhoon > Sub-Zero Smash > Goblin Rush > Chant du Cygne. The double light on the end should produce 2.25x the damage on CdC

If i get Enhancing torque + portent pants that would put me at 170 enhancing with all 8 enhancing merits, other pieces would take too much work and gil to get, and for only 1 less damage taken...

    Thanks alot Rez!

This is going to kill my points...

Also, may want to pop an Efflux before Goblin Rush and a Chain Affinity before CdC to have it ready to blow right after the skillchain's done.

Also Also, Sam SJ with 200 TP Sekkanoki. Just a thought.

How about doing this for Azure Lore:

SC 1 - Disseverment -> Goblin Rush -> Benthic Typhoon -> Quad. Continuum
SC 2 - Disseverment -> Goblin Rush -> Vertical Cleave -> Quad. Continuum

Wouldn't have time for a 3rd, barely enough for the second.

Did Azure Lore get ninja'd to nullify recasts, or are people expecting to have double marches during the 30 seconds?

Ok, I'm newly 90, and my gear is shit (SHIT!). It embarrasses me.

I'm working through CoP right now (literally as I post this), in order to get Rajas (as well as Zilart for Suppa), and I have a couple of people who are interested in Limbus so I can get Brutal. The LS is going to start working on Aby NMs for gear (tho that's a bit of a trial), and I'm working on obtaining and upgrading AF3 as well.

That said, everything else is basically AH purchasable gear.

    Dusk hands and feet.
    Aurore body, head and legs.
    Woodsman rings (ugh)
    Spike earrings (double ugh)
Tiphia sting, Swift Belt, Forager's Mantle.

I have teal and INT gear to swap in for Magical spells, MND gear for cures, STR gear for Phys spells. But every time someone checks me I worry that I'll end up in the GIMP/WTF thread. Is there anything I can purchase on the AH or easily camp that is worth pursuing posthaste? I'm still in the process of getting all of my spells so I haven't set up a Whisker set or really a set for any one spell. But I know that's on the horizon.

Any general advice would be super helpful. I'm probably over thinking it, but I just want to do the best I can with what I have available to me.

Does the "Occ. augments blue magic spells" do anything for Charged Whisker? I've thought it was a damage boost, but I've parsed 476 Charged Whiskers and seen no damage spike, which is almost impossible even at 1% activation

Yes. I've only had it happen once, got an 8k whisker that hit like 15 mobs. Once Happened this week! Nothing else I can imagine would make it go from 4.2-4.5k I was hitting the rest of the day, to 8k like that (minus brew )

That may very well have been a Magic Crit off Hecate's Earring if you have it. I remember I was mid-cast on Whisker one day when Ascetics wore off, so I thought I would have to Whirl to finish, but then it hit for 8.5k and I was like WTF. Only my feet are +2 in my Whisker set, so it couldn't have been the set bonus. (Just remembered, I use +2 Legs as well, so I can't rule out set proc, though I didn't think it would straight double my damage)

I don't plan on setting any special spells for Azure Lore after the update, which is why I was looking for combos that use the spells I generally set anyway. I think the 4-5 way Darkness is good enough. The Wiki doesn't list any properties for Whirl of Rage or Empty Thrash. Do AOEs have SC properties?

I'm assuming you're either a new player or an old player making a new character and therefore new to abyssea.

    Quick/Easy/Cheap > Middle > Long/Hard/'Best'

    TP Gear
    Head: Aurore > Emp+1 (Walahra) > Emp+2
Neck: Chiv Chain > ??? > Fortitude Torque
    Earring: Spikes > ??? > Suppa+Brutal
Body: Aurore > Relic (outside abyssea), Emp+1 (inside) > Emp+2
Hands: Dusk > Homam or Ocelot's (not necessarily better, but people like them for the lack of movement penalty) > Dusk+1 (not explicitly 'necessary', you can cap haste without them)
    Ring: Woodsman > Rajas > Epona's
    Back: Forager's > ??? > Atheling
Belt: Swift > Goading (I'd skip this unless you have a 2h DD that can use it too) > Twilight
Legs: Aurore > Homam (Not actually better, but people like to pretend they are because they aren't pink), Emp+1 > Emp+2
    Feet: Dusk > Homam > Dusk+1

Kinda tired and I feel like I may forget something obvious (and probably already have), so I'll probably make Spell/WS tomorrow.

1.) 10 MAB wouldn't translate to jurmping from ~4500 to 8000. I don't know what would explain it, though.

2.) Those spells are listed on the skillchain page on wiki, so don't know why it's not on the spell page. Scission/Detonation and Compression/Scission, respectively.

Magic critical hit adds MAB equal to your critical hit rate +10. In other words, 3% critical hit will add 13 MAB. Hardly a boost that will make your damage jump 4k.

Just remembered that I use +2 Legs for Whisker too >.< Edited my post accordingly. I suppose Set Bonus MUST have played a part in it, though I didn't know it was that potent... Maybe it was Crit AND set bonus or something.

    BTW

Anyone have any good advice/recommendations for getting my Coin of Wieldance? In case you don't remember, the mobs that drop it are:

    Azdaja (3)
    Dragua (1)
    Ironclad Pulverizer (1)
    Tristitia (1)
    Ulhuadshi (1)

Just looking for some strats and set-ups that make any of these guys spammable. I'm kinda leaning toward Dragua, though I'm hopeful someone will have an Azdaja strat that can be done easily with ~4 people with procs. If all else fails, I'm gonna build up some Cruor, go RDM/NIN, and Chainspell Brew 3 of them at a time.

If there's a mob that spawns in an exact spot that I can one-shot, I could set up a test for the effect. The boost doesn't seem to be a straight 2x dmg multiplier.

I can't think of any mobs that fit that criteria... Temple Guardian is same spot. Pots in Sea are same spot. Dolls in Sky are same spot, but I don't think you can one-shot any of these. I assume you're going to do a /targetnpc > [Spell] macro on loop or turbo controller and leave it on overnight or something (if not just XiClaim, lol)? Maybe a Beastmen campfire in one of the newbie areas. Can't think of anything else that just spawns in one spot all the time.

Dragua. Probably killed the most, you can easily solo a pop item, offer it to people killing it for the scales if you can get the coin, repeat x6.

You're assuming correctly. I returned in late March. Good to know I'm at least on the right track, and now I know where to start looking for better stuff.

From what I've seen, the common strategy for Azdaja that doesn't involve a brew is for any melee on it to be Nin or /nin and fight it from behind. That way it will prioritize using Spike Flail (which can be absorbed if you have enough shadows up) over the majority of its other TP moves (such as the Atma wiping one). Mages and support will need to make sure to stay out of range, but other than that it should be a relatively straightforward fight.

Don't have to stay out of range for mages, just drop party and you get hit by nothing, not even AOE spells.
