From what I've seen, the common strategy for Azdaja that doesn't involve a brew is for any melee on it to be Nin or /nin and fight it from behind. That way it will prioritize using Spike Flail (which can be absorbed if you have enough shadows up) over the majority of its other TP moves (such as the Atma wiping one). Mages and support will need to make sure to stay out of range, but other than that it should be a relatively straightforward fight.

It's +30 seconds, Battery Charge lasted for 5:30min. If it matters I unequip the cape after refresh is on me.

Pretty Good for subzero smash (50% vit mod) and solid for delta thrust (20% Str/50% vit mod). The +5 skill add 5 blu att which is more than any other head piece.
Also if you have an augmented Mederi feet wih +2 blu skill, combining it with the Mirage head piece will break another tier.

Edit: Okay, here's my gripe. I love nuking on Blue Mage. I'm currently making all new macros for my different spells to maximise as much damage as possible.

But they all have such different Mods!

I would usually use Charged Whisker, Everyone's Grudge, Regurgitation, and possible Leafstorm/Thermal Pulse (but those just wern't doing too great for me).

Whisker is DEX
Regurgitation is INT, secondary MND
Everyones Grudge is MND
Thermal Pulse is VIT
etc

How do you decide what to have as a nuking setup?

I can maxmise Charged Whisker, and go with Lion/Binding Horn/Razed Ruins, but that naturally doesn't help anything other than itself and maybe.. Mind Blast... if that's worth using I don't know.

What do you guys do, if you do, for a decent nuking setup against NMs?

I would have to ask, what NM are you nuking? The only applicable use for me for CW is mainly AOE farming, the rest I never use because melee just pushes far ahead compared to nuking.

I don't typically nuke NMs, but for that Ultimate+MM+either Beyond or an element specific atma (such as Noxious Fang- Regurgitation is still pretty decent for nuking, since any instance where you would want to nuke a NM would also be one where you'd want to stay back) would be a good way to go.

Of the times I can't feed TP (multi hit spells and meleeing), I'm usually better off helping with healing... But when I can nuke, I'm pretty much always disappointed between the recast timers, the lack of nuking range (is it really so hard to ask for 21' nukes?), and the terrible damage:MP ratio. I used to almost always outparse BLMs in long fights just using Regurgitation at 75, but it's prone to resisting in Abyssea it seems like, not to mention it just gets outdone by BLM's newer nukes if used alone. If you use Charged with Regurgitation during cooldowns, however, it could potentially put up consistently high damage over time, but the problem is CW's range. The main problems with this are that mobs move around when tanks lose hate, and even a split second of this will kill your CW due to it's pathetic casting range; as well as being in range for every type of AoE (maybe not conals, but there are a lot of mobs with spike flail type moves out there and those are often the ones you can't feed your TP to anyway, leading to you nuking in the first place).

So yeah. It'll be more efficient to just focus on Everyone's Grudge and Regurgitation (and maybe even Magic Hammer) with an atma setup of something like Ultimate+MM+Beyond/Allure/Fullmoon.


On another note, has anyone tried Blazing Bound with a MDB and INT setup? Maybe something like Future Fabulous+MM+Rescuer/Apoc (for the Quick Magic, mainly. lol) and a fresh Saline Coat? I'm curious what kind of numbers it would put out.

It can be anything really, sometimes it's because my LS leader is being anal about TP feed and wants everyone to back off; it could be a mix of healing/nuking/backline play; and it can even just be for fun.

I've done nuking on NMs such as Ulhudashi with just Regurg spams.

Yeah I've been using Beyond/Ultimate/Baying Moon for around 210 MAB with gear, and using Charged Whisker/Everyone's Grudge/Regurgitation. It does roughgly 3500:2500:1500 damage per respective spell.

Everyone's Grudge with Cosmos/baying/ultimate do around 80% damage of Blizz V, beats blizz V with BA I think and destroys it with BA and convergence but the problem is MP ratio and recast. I haven't used EG + Regurgitation in any serious fight. Only tried it for fun on Altepa ally to one shot dolls and make those noobs shocked that BLU can nuke lol. One time tho EG saved my ass I should have a SS:

He was immune to physical and Przyjaciel is a WHM. WAR was dead already so he would go after me next so it went off in perfect time( it took all of my MP too, lol galka ). It is a set bonus too I think because it is just with BA and it was doing like 1700 before.
