CA+Efflux spell would need to ADD (Not just do) 1.75-2.25x your CDC damage in order to make it worth using over double light CDC.

Hard to say without gear or knowing what Atmas the person used. Probably can say AFv3+1 helm and also the fact that darkness was less than it should have been on the skillchain (should be 2.25x dmg of Quad not to mention having skillchain bonus trait set from Rush and Typhoon), probably due to opposing element of the day that it was performed.
So I was doing a bit of research for the best offhand for Almace (it appears STR sword, but sometimes the Double Attack one). I keep seeing talk of Motenten's spread sheet and Nightfyre's calculations... and I'm not math wizard lol >.>
Can someone link me to these maths (or walk me through it) so I can quickly determine which swords win in what situation? Thanks.
What is this?Set it up in two macros with the new <wait ?> you can easily do those in one to two macros.
What would be a simple SC with Azure Lore that wouldn't expend a huge amount of Mp or time? Also would not take away from a normal spell build.
Depends on what you mean by lots of mp and time and what your normal set is. 2 step lvl 3s are easy since there are at least 2 spells for each lvl 2 element
Normal set is the usual DD spells, Gob rush, QC, BT, Vanity dive, Dissv etc. Nothing rarely used like Cannonball or vertical cleave. Don't want to expend more than 300mp or so. Examples would be more helpful.
Probably something like Dissevernment > Goblin Rush > Benthic Typhoon > Quadratic > CDC. Should be Fusion > Gravitation > Darkness > Darkness if I'm reading my charts right, and 297 MP.
Edit: Durp. CDC makes light with it's t3 element, but darkness with it's t2 element, so I guess you can't close with it.
Might be better to just list stuff. Sticking with spells with lvl 2 elements that make lvl 2 or 3 skillchains...
CDC is light/distortion
Sub-zero Smash Fragmentation
Ram Charge Fragmentation -
Final Sting Fusion -
Goblin Rush Fusion Impaction
Cannonball Fusion -
Benthic Typhoon Gravitation -
Vertical Cleave Gravitation -
Quadratic Continuum Distortion - Scission
Disseverment Distortion -
Distortion + gravitation = dark
fusion + frag = light
light + light = light
dark + dark = dark
Distortion -> fusion = fusion
Gravitation -> Fragmentation =Fragmentation
Fusion -> Gravitation = Gravitation
Fragmentation -> Distortion = Distortion
The problem is BLU is very Distortion heavy; they have 3 solid options for it (CDC, Disseverment, Quad), only 1 good option for Fusion, 1 mediocre Gravitation (BT is a decent enough spell, but 1 hit makes it an iffy choice), and no decent option for Fragmentation. To make any double light worth noting you would need to equip at least 2 non-standard spells, one of which MUST be a fragmentation, and the other can be Frag or Fusion.
Yeah I think I'm gunna play around with Ram charge tomorrow to see if I can get decent dmg on it. I just hate how if you want to do 2 step light/dark with just spells you have to use a single hit spell no matter what. And where is our light/dark element spell huh!?!
If you don't have a CDC sword, you could start the chain I suggested earlier with Savage Blade. 5-step Darkness ending in QC is still nothing to scoff at.
Wonder if you could use quad twice in the skillchain since it has a relatively low recast... and outside of abyssea quad is gunna do way more than CDC anyways. How about...
Vertical cleave> Savage blade >Diservement > Goblin Rush > Benthic Typhoon > Quadratic
Should be frag, distortion, fusion, grav, dark (damn blu for not getting swift blade!!!)
OK, I feel like a moron.... how many seconds should I script between spells?
I scripted 4 with a <wait> command like I use with a "WS + spell" macro, but I wasn't seeing the skillchains in the logs. I've used my 2h like three times and can't seem to get it right.
If you're blinking gear you won't see the skillchain. Was that the issue?
