About to start trying to Charged Whisker burn (trying to do the Khanda +2 and want to make it easier), but I need to know "Is this gear enough"

The Atmas I have for Charged Whisker are currently Ultimate, RR, and Kirin. Not the best I know.

That's ok for starting gear; however, most of your damage will come from proper atma choices. Particularly, the lack of Lion and Blinding Horn means you don't benefit from a 60% affinity boost.

I've been cleaving tahronghi for about 4 days now and have only seen 1 set proc and that was last night. My normal 5.2k on Mandies did 8.1k. So yea, it's only a 3% chance so "bad luck" is just a low percentage.

You wont max out and as previous poster said atam's are a big deal, I thought rr was nice at first but added almost 1.5k dmg when i swiched to lion and blinding horn. Also go out and get yourself a http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Thiazi%27s_Belt Joke to get and its an extra 2 dex on your build. Got PI on 3'ed kill and went 1/1 drop with no th.

Ascetics wore off right as I started CW and I thought I'd have to follow up with Whirl or Pulse (if I was still setting it at that point). These days I cast with 3/5 +2 (Hands, Feet, Legs) and the set proc rate is still retarded low.

Sometimes that does work to advantage though D; I hate when I accidentally azure stuff I'm not meaning to because of set procs.

Tiers refers to whole numbers after the 0.11 multiplication. The reason this is important is because there is no difference between 20,20.3,20.5,20.42, 20.31, and so forth once you floor them. They all come up as 20.

floored. You don't get the next tier till you're past the next whole number.

Ah awesome, I always wondered what that formula was. I think this just proves I should be using Mavi Tathlum when casting physical spells. 407 skill versus 412. Neat!

It does not, and elemental staves are a different term. It's the magian staves that are the same term as atmas.

More than likely belongs in the RQT, but I figured I'd get a better reply here- do the Magic Def. Down effects of Benthic Typhoon and Enervation stack? I'm assuming no, but I figured I'd check.

To clarify: on the wiki, it states that Enervation gives -8 MDB and Benthic gives -10% MDB, would these count as different stats or were the people that wrote the article mouth breathers? (no offense to anyone here who may have contributed to it >_>)
