Thunderbolt did 798 dmg to a Wasp outside Jeuno (regular TP gear, didn't put on MAB or staff etc)Might test it w/ Convergence in a few
From what I can tell with the Store TP testing (its annoying w/o plugins), if it is a bonus its a bonus of 5 STP.
(Where's an Icarus Wing when you need one?)
Donation of an Icarus Wing! It does in fact, provide an additional 5 STP when all four spells are set.
I only put two merits in Convergence b/c I was lazy but Thunderbolt gave me an 877 dmg that time, so looks like probable for Convergence bonus (plus it ate the buff)
Thunderbolt damage testing

Well shit. Harden Shell + Barrier Tusk = profit
Barrier Tusk looks to be a phalanx type move, or perhaps a phalanx with a twist (e.g. % reduction). Needs more testing on that one for sure. 1000->850 is -15% damage taken, since I can't imagine them giving us 150 damage phalanx lol
I think I am about to burst just wow never thought they give us all that I am one mfing happy blu Harden Shell + Barrier Tusk just gave me wood lol
Can someone test harden shell + cocoon + sa+ca+efflux+ canonball lol
The phalanx is definitely very bizarre.
Spoiler: show
Worth noting that the reduction on 1000 needles wasn't effected by blue magic skill at all, and I saw no noticeable decrease in damage taken from melee hits.
Probably skill based.
Also they've managed to somehow arrange the spell list correctly on this test server.
That's the thing, there was no difference in damage reduction based on skill.
I'd bet it's a percentage reduction (like 15%) applied at the end. Your 2 damage spikes were reduced by 15% and floored to 1. Try subbing RDM, using both forms of Phalanx (see if they stack) and eating 1000 needles.
Doing dark orb testing at the moment, will go do that ASAP. Dark Orb itself looks very promising.
Or stack with pdt gear to see if/how it works with that too. Would be pretty awesome if it allowed us to go passed the cap. Actually I wouldn't mind too much if it just added. Allow me to idle in less pdt/mdt while doing stuff while still capping
Request testing of physical damage type, go to apollyon SE...able to set your own limbus timer there? Not hard either way, just curious.
Perhaps Barrier Tusk saying that it gives Phalanx is a bug, and it just gives -15% damage taken?
Hmmm any words about physical damage reduction by barrier tusk?
still working on it
I recommend to test it on RNG gigas (or any RNG mobs, really). Hopefully their pDIF is on "stable" state (hence, the same number everytime they hit you by ranged attack), so you can easily tell how much physical damage reduction was done.
