Hmm, seems Mortal Ray can wear off? Cast on a dancing weapon, and it wore before the fall. That being said, the weapon cast Blizzard on me then it wore. Also, i get 'no effect' an awful lot (when facing the monster), had that on an EP Thassolion and a TW Skele in behe dom.

White Wind formula is floor(HP/7)*2, also augmented by cure potency. It's not the same as HP/3.5 before it's brought up.

Appears that NMs are completely immune to Mortal Ray, surprise surprise. High level mobs are incredibly resistant, and it does appear to have a chance to wear off before it takes full effect... It's happened a few times to me already.

The real question is, can you get better than 9STR 20ATK in Hands or Feet slot assuming that's the Haste slot you replace? Or maybe replace Body slot?

Actually have figured out what causes mortal ray to wear off. If you move too far from the mob that is afflicted, it will wear off.

So it looks like Mortal Ray goes on the list with Bad Breath and Thousand Needles, and all the other useless spells we have.

What kind of light does Mortal Ray death give? I'm guessing Pearl.

I actually didn't even remember that it was one of the spells we were getting, lol. But yeah, I figured SE wouldn't give us anything worth using that can straight up kill a mob.

Closest I could see would be a DW/Atk Mirke, maybe?

Saw it was a couple days but saw no comments, posting from phone though. And yeah, definitely swap out body for Loki's with it.

Or perhaps Mextli Harness but idk how much I value giving +3% crit to the other DD in my party

Edit: Didn't think about Loki's, I think it will come down to how often and how potent the TP drain is for me as well as how much STR/Atk is added to the 95 Sword. How good is Loki for TP outside of abyssea?

Nothing. Heavy Strike does not skillchain with CDC, Savage Blade or Expiacion.

And no, Mortal Ray isn't conal.

You don't need to learn it. If you talk to the moogle in your moghouse there is an option to learn all spells/rolls and have all attachments.
Once this is done the spell doesn't need to be set, but it is greyed out until you use the new BLU ability which is on a 5 minute timer and will wear upon use.
