Whelp, the test server conclusively proves the resist rate of additional effects (e.g. stun on head butt) is affected by skill. My blue skill was reset to 1 and couldn't land stun on even the easiest of monsters.

Also, not sure if anyone stressed this but sudden lunge stun duration is epicly long. We're talking 16 seconds when fully unresisted on a WoE mob, but resistance does build (presuming due to them being NMs)
Yeah it's stupid long, I expect a nerf before it hits live or shortly after. I had one last 22 seconds on an NQ mob in abyssea.
Heavy Strike is Blunt or HtH I'm guessing?
Yeah, which I'm not sure, will do testing on it when I can. Right now I'm redoing my mod testing on it as there was a discrepancy with the results. Currently, fTP looks to be 1.8 or lower.
Edit: Meh, I was right. Any errors are unlikely, but I welcome anyone else to give it a shot.
I'm quite impressed overall with the new spells. Heavy Strike follows in the same vein as Delta Thrust, not epic damage but damn cheap to cast. Sudden Lunge is a high-tier Head Butt replacement, Harden Shell is a very nice crowd control spell. Thunderbolt is alright when properly geared, but will be more of an 'addition' to the CW burns in abyssea rather than any new facet to the job. White Wind is a much needed higher tier curaga, and Barrier Tusk... well its -15% damage taken, but I would rather have a normal phalanx (-xx damage from everything). Not heard or tried too much on Water Bomb, nor Dark Orb (though I hear it's quite strong?). Mortal Ray... gimmicky.
As for more data, Mortal Ray is gaze based (if you weren't sure due to the help message not stating this) and it's like all other gaze spells, so you can be not facing it but the monster MUST be facing you. Even though it's a gaze move, it will only work on one target much like Blank Gaze. The doom, when landed, will take effect after 1 minute. The doom will wear off if you go too far away from the monster, this range is around 12", so quite small really. Monsters which resist dark will shrug this off, even at a low level (e.g. Qufim bats will resist this).
Barrier Tusk's -15% damage taken will not stack with PDT beyond 50%: 1000 needles with 39% PDT and Tusk took 527. With no PDT, 850. With 5% PDT, 810.
It was tested earlier to be an additional *.85 mod, after PDT is applied. If you've got 39% PDT in gear, you've probably actually got closer to 38%. .62*.85*1000 = 527
This means that it can "surpass" the 50% cap, but only because it's not in the same term. It's similar to Fan Dance (which floors out at 20% PDT).
I just thought it was odd that even the 5% PDT value is off the mark then as well, but hey oh well.
If you're trying to guess the real PDT value of a piece of gear you're using, generally floor(X%*256)/256 is a good guess.
In the case of 5% PDT:
floor(5%*256) = 12
.85*(256-12)/256 = 810
I bet the accuracy on Mortal Ray decreases as you move to the edges of a mob's conal vision, much like other breath and gaze spells. Would be crazy to test however.
Isn't even worth testing tbh :\
Yeah it's kind of broken atm, I love it.
