There was, and it seems like Dark orb does in fact take less MP, they just haven't updated the tooltip.
How bad HeavyStrike accuracy now ? Worse or still better than Benthic ?
Had done around 300 while doing something else and didn't miss any more than normal.
So about barrier tusk... Does it stack with /RDM phalanx?
Page 460... that's pretty far back.
Anyway, I think barrier tusk will replace phalanx for /RDM easily for any damage > 100, no?
I don't have RDM sub, so I'm just guessing we can't get our enhancing skills beyond 170 using RDM sub, can we?
Can it replace it? Yes.
Should it be used in any except certain circumstances (Tanking higher tier Voidwatch NMs and the like)? No.
The casting time is a drawback in itself, but the duration is a severe detriment in the overall usefulness of the spell. I don't see myself casting it unless it's going to make a significant impact on the damage I take.
I think you missing the point of phalanx. Phalanx is almost always casted to reduce 50-100% damage taken and very often to just got hit by 0. You cant do it with Barrier Tusk. While at some point they reduce same amount of damage those 2 spells have completely 2 different purpose.
Precisely, Barrier Tusk has uses but they aren't very vast. Same can be said for normal Phalanx when it's as weak as we get it from /RDM.
Replacing something you dont use is irrelevant...
You sub /rdm to use phalanx when it let you mitigate 50-100% of damage so around <35 damage in which case barrier tusk is almost useless.
If you fighting something that hit for 200 you are on other sub. Even if you are on /rdm for some reason then phalanx is just some small addition that you barely care to cast.
That doesn't stop the statement from being true.
If you want to be so nitpicking then I would say NO statement isnt true because it wont REPLACE phalanx because both effects stack. EDIT oh wait they dont. Still its like saying that Umbra cape can replace phalanx at some damage range. It's just stupid...
Barrier Tusk and phalanx have 2 different uses. Stop being stubborn.
They are both different and provide different effects, so they don't "stack" per se. Doesnt Barrier Tusk just go hand in hand with your -pdt and then phalanx is counted last?
Barrier Tusk: 15% PDT that is multiplicative to current PDT
Phalanx: A static damage reduction dependent on Enhancing Skill
They are mutually exclusive.
