    Posted on official forums, its highly unlikely, but it would be cool if it had a hate reset for the BLU. Kinda simliar to how Horrid Roar is with the mob version, they could tweak it like they did with other spells. That might be a little broken though lol.

    I don't think I've ever even used that spell lol, I wonder if it has any use assuming its decent amount of reduction. Could see it being useful for VW. On good majority of NMs I deal a good amount of dmg via nukes, would allow me to use other nukes besides Regurgitation and keep hate down.

    Yes I had tested Hydro Shot with a friend, it wasn't really that annoying to test. The enmity reduction was incredibly low almost to the point of doing nothing.

    Yeah just saying what a pain it would be to test a spell that reduces emnity and most likely also produces some... does it add before it takes away? Is it percentage based. Does it even add any from the dmg? Hell does it even work everytime? Take multiple tests to rule everything out to make sure

    Check out how they did the High Jump testing. I'm pretty sure the Enmity from damage dealt was just straight negated in that case.

    Everything was accounted for, the tests were done ages ago. It works similar to High Jump if High Jump was shit.

    Didn't say it wasn't possibly just annoying in that it requires multiple tests. You have any numbers from said testing? Play around with CA and different tps?

    Did CA and Efflux with varying amounts of TP. Not exactly sure what numbers you want from enmity testing, used several white and blue magic spells to control enmity, both of us had neutral (+/-0) enmity. Enmity behaved exactly as expected with no discernible reduction every single time that it was casted.

    If you need a procedure:

    Casted one spell and checked enmity gain to determine the monster's level; cockatrice in Sauromugue. Afterward it was calculated how much enmity hydro shot would give after using the initial spell. Hydro Shot gave exactly the amount of enmity that it should have for the damage that it did and reduced enmity by absolutely nothing.

    In retrospect, it didn't work like High Jump at all.

    Well yeah by numbers I was thinking along the lines of how much did it do... how many times did you repeat it? I mean it does say a chance so maybe it's something stupid like 5% chance at 300% tp lol

    Didn't save any of the information as none of it was of even a tiny bit of interest. If you doubt the results feel free to repeat the test yourself, it's simple enough to reproduce. The spell is useless.

    Nope, High Jump wipes a % of your enmity before dealing damage, and then adds an appropriate amount of enmity to you for the damage it deals. If no one really has hate, it's entirely possible to pull hate with High Jump.

    Spirit and Soul Jump appear to give no enmity for the damage they deal though.

    I recall someone (Kaeko I think) testing Hydro's enmity reduction to be 300 (VE?CE?) reduction per cast.

    Not even close to 300 CE or VE. It was literally indistinguishable. Likely the chance of the enmity reduction effect is quite low, as if it had reduced enmity it would have been noticed. Our enmity was completely controlled.

    As I said, Hydro Shot provided exactly the amount of enmity that it should have and removed none. A Barspell was enough to pull hate for both my friend and I after it was cast and hate from the damage was equalized every single time.

    Definitely wasn't Kaeko, his page still didn't have information on Hydro Shot when he stopped updating it. Reduced VE would be kind of funny in a terribad sort of way, could see it being something like that.

    Wasn't even VE. If it did reduce VE, it was by less than the amount created by the damage done. The spell had absolutely no noticeable effect on enmity aside from enmity generated by the damage that it did.

    So my friend who recently just rejoined the game decided to level BLU.

    I've absolutely no idea about the general workings or know-hows of this job! It seems like a very complex thing compared to other jobs, as Blue Magic all have their own unique parameters and characteristics.

    Any advice one could give for general BLU-ness? Merits, weapons, which spells to set in general, atmas... etc etc.

    The rest of your questions have been asked many times in this thread, if a search doesn't work that would be very odd. Merits I would do would be:

    CA recast 5/5
    Phy potency 5/5

    Weapons x2 str shamshir if no interest in pursuing Almace.

    Atma, MM VV RR for spells as primary dmg if no CDC.

    Spells would vary greatly depending on situation. Most common ones are the good DD spells such as QC, Gob rush, BT, heavy strike, delta thrust and common utility spells like animating wail, battery charge. Fill in other spells to gain traits like double attack and such. Vorpal is a very reliable WS as is sanguine blade (if target doesn't heavily resist).
