Blue Mage: Best thread ever

Darn was hoping it would at least get boost from other crit rates. So not really that great to CA with unless you use efflux too I guess. Also given those numbers I'm kinda wondering where the hell that guy from the official forums was talking about with his 13k blood rake lol.

Overall Amorphic for CA Quadrastrike for Efflux looks to be the way to go.

Outside of Dual Wield, Quadratic Continuum is officially replaced.

It does respectable damage especially given its added effect, but it's Urteil so over inflation of things to make himself look right isn't too farfetched.

I wouldn't call it retired yet. If I have the room for it, I still like to set Disseverment for extra damage when other spells are down. Quadratic Continuum is still fairly nice damage without CA or Efflux, so I would keep it handy when I have the extra spell slot (i.e. not procing, not that Atum ever goes BLU outside of Abyssea) and have some MP to burn for extra damage.

Quadrastrike: w/ CA+EFF 752, w/ EFF 601, 722, no JAs 558 (this one was during Raksha, was kind of bizarre, I'm chalking it up to a set proc for now)
Amorphic Spikes: w/ CA 218, 272, 316
Barbed Crescent: 164, 166 (ACC down landed)
Bloodrake: 178, 337 (drain didn't proc ofc)
Tourbillion: 455 (DEF down landed)
Wind Breath: 293 (-50% from Yaksha)

For comparison,

Vanity Dive: 241
Heavy Strike: 668, 639


All spells done in their respective gear sets. Wind Breath and Quadrastrike look to be relatively formidable.

Now it seems to me that it's Quadrastrike that gets the attack boost, or you probably meant 1.25 fTP on 4 hits (so it draws itself closer to 5-hit spell, just like Goblin rush did)

You realize that it crits right? And yes 1.25 on 4 hits, it has a total of 5fTP. All BLU recent multihits work the same way.

475 with jubbah+tayt+tathlum = 107 D. Scarf + Hat makes it 109, body+legs+ammo still best
