Requiescat is worthless. Even for its one possible use, Pil's shield, it can't pull down said shield in one weaponskill, in fact, often I get less damage than one Fire Shot from the CORs.

I've seen PLDs do 1.2k~2k Requiescat on Pil, what's the difference between BLU and PLD? Lacking attack in gears?

Aside from some Morrigan's pieces not much that can be done. The couple of points of STR won't be making 1,000 extra damage.

I've done 900~1kish on Pil with med buffs + food, not that hard to reach around that dmg with them.

Idk, I've never hit over 500. Might just be my gear set, but don't see much room for improvement aside from the aforementioned Morrigan pieces and a maat's cap.

I doubt it's the gear set because mine is very similiar, as is the buffs. 500~900 I would actually say, 1k+ is bit much for Pil. Looking through my logs from today I had a bard that gave minuet 5, but I did 900~950.

Edit: Nvm they gave scherzo, so no minuet 5.

Yeah I've never got a COR or BRD as I'm usually stuck in the proc party, so I only have my own devices to work with. ;(

Edit: nevermind then :c idk, could be I'm just unlucky and getting unfavorable pDIF rolls on every hit or missing a few of the hits every time.

I'm not sure, it most certainly doesn't always hit those numbers, but its not exactly rare that I do hit them.

DMG from logs (didn't snip only high shots, was all the ones I did for the group) Keep in mind some were after I got smited and had 0 buffs and was trying to lower shield. I wouldn't say its completely useless as it has niche uses against special shields, which is why I got it for BLU. If you have multiple jobs you use that can benefit from the other merited ws, I wouldn't do it though as the uses are pretty short.

I appreciate all the input. Merits aren't hard to come by on BLU, so I'll try it out. The obvious ones for me are h2h and marksmanship, and I have Jishnu's, so don't need Apex, and Realmrazer's nerf doesn't replace Hexa for me.

If you don't mind me asking, I've not fought Pil yet. I'm aware of the various shields he puts up. Is Requiescat a special kind of damage other than normal sword/slashing? Or is it just good for this particular shield?

It's a no-type damage type, similar to spirits within. It'll just cut through invincible and will do normal damage against any Apollyon SE mob.

it doesn't count as spirit damage, so not quite, though similar. It's in the same vein as Formless Strikes and Twilight Scythe.

I've had Formless hit for zero on Pil, so I don't think Formless is of the same nature.

Well what makes you think it's not spirits/atonement like? You try it on cerb mobs or something?

Because spirits and atonement are subject to very noticeable damage cuts and function completely differently from damage like Twilight Scythe. Spirit damage doesn't bypass magic shields either unless I'm horribly mistaken.

So is the augmented af2+2 body worth using with chain affinity, assuming acc isn't an issue? 20 tp bonus from 4/5 enchainment doesn't sound like much.
