Speaking of Tinnin. What set up would you need to kill it at 99? Can it be soloed on BLU?
I'm stuck in a conundrum. I had intended, long ago, to make a Nirvana, as SMN is very much my favorite. However I kinda feel it'd be a waste, I'm not on SMN that often, on top of it being SMN and wanted in like, Legion and that's it currently. I was debating making a Tizona instead. I already have Almace though. Where did Tizona rank on the sword scale?
My jobs are COR, SCH, BLM, SMN, BLU atm. Death Penalty/Lea/Tupsimati are very out of the question. So it's either Nirvana or Tizona.
The current state of the game suggests Nirvana because, practically, saving 300% TP for BLU seems like a waste when you would use BLU. Nirvana is a substantial damage increase where viable (Most pet gear is loool anyways).
Tizona's a great sword, but it isn't worth the money or other resources that you have to invest in it.
Nirvana is probably one of the better-tailored to its job Mythics out there, which isn't really saying anything about the weapon as much as it is saying stuff about how neglected SMN is. It's probably going to be more potent once Astral Conduit arrives. (I mean, you'll actually have something to DO at ADLs/AVs/suchlike after popping your PD.) Either way I think Magian Staffs to Nirvana is a bigger increase than Almace to Tizona.
Avatar: MaB adds less damage than you'd think it would thou, for the time/cost investment vs reward they're both terrible. The interesting thing about tizona is it would allow you to spam cures/occultation/etc without worrying about mp, but that hasn't been particularly useful in level 76+ content due to atmas, temp items, embrava, healers not running out of mp, etc.
If we get a better sword WS in SoA (or reduced attack penalty on requiescat) and/or less focus on mindless zerg content, tizona might be better off in the future. On the other hand, if we get better mp regeneration (refresh 2 equivalent, an entropy like spell, or whatever) it could be further marginalized.
Magic Hammer had so much potential, even in Abyssea with craptons of MND it's still pretty lame. I kind of wish we had a 5min recast Unbridled Learning spell that acted like Magic Hammer/Spirit-Taker. That way we'd have the option of another MP regeneration spell without having to waste points on setting it. Could remove Battery Charge and just gamble on a 5min recast spell that could do 300-500 damage instnalty instead of waiting for 300mp over 5min. Either that or give us a new level 90+ version of Battery Charge.
The only real problem I have with hammer is it's recast. 3 min is a bit much for a spell that pimped out is only gunna do like 300ish outside of abysea unless you MB. Granted it lines up with BA timer nicely. If they fixed that or instead made the formula for it less stupid it would be awesome. I mean why the fuck can you reach the D cap for a lvl 74 spell at lvl 33?
That said just for fun I got it up to mid 600s in abyssea just now lol. Forgot /sch doesn't get light weather spell so missed out some MAB there and didn't have day/weather or skillchain bonus and of course had to all atma for it with staff... but if that was possible under normal circumstances would be kinda insane
If SE get rid of the level correction from mob, will BLU have maybe a spot as DD against HL mobs, like legion for exemple ?
It depends on how these changes work. Level correction is the one major thing keeping BLU from being exceptional.
Yeah if they mentioned bumping defense up with killing lvl correct which would technically help melees more than blu since blus problem is being unable to affect it's side of pdif all that greatly compared to melee's. But if you throw enough -def on it could help blu really shine
BLU is a melee
They should add some beastly spell to Tizona like they were thinking of doing. Spike Flail or something cool!
