Anyone else getting antsy about BLU spells coming to the DAT mining thread soonish?
Anyone else getting antsy about BLU spells coming to the DAT mining thread soonish?
Not at all. I expect there to be nothing there. We will not get a single thing in this expansion. BLU will only be on mage gear, unless it has useful stats, in which case it will be forgotten completely. Also, they're going to take away five set points because we've got too many and make five new pieces of gear that have +1 set point (and no other stats). They will also put that they've fixed some issues with Blue Magic accuracy in the patch notes (but they won't actually fix the Blue Magic).
Yes, I am extremely antsy.
Expect a kick in the taint, so that why when they just punch you in the neck you aren't as upset....? Sounds about right.
I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get them this update. If I remember right, we didn't get them right away when WoTG came out.
WotG spells came like 4 months after release. Soulflayer/puk/etc. spells in ToAU came in a later patch than when they were added as well. They've been better about blue magic in abyssea and beyond thou, I think everything was available right off the bat at each level increase?
EDIT:
With stuff like this in SoA, I wonder if 90 almace is even going to be worth using.
i don't expect to get anything for 1~2 updates, maybe more. Hopefully they're worth the wait. Could do with a new stoneskin, cure spell, and some cool traits like critical attack bonus... an enspell, maybe a unique type of buff for crit rate or something, temper-like spell.
edit: a few extra points of D doesnt come close to removing Almace from the top
You can expect at least spells for BLU. They definitely have been better about adding spells with Abyssea, they only were super low key about it. No announcements or anything with the initial Abyssea expansion.
Normally I'd agree, but honestly I don't see us getting them until the other job adjustments are released (RNG stuff, etc.)
I'm cynical about BLU things simply because SE hates us
I think we'll see spells from most, if not all of the new non-nm mob types at launch, just going by how 76-99 went. I'm more worried about how long it will take for the blue magic version of the elemental update to come about, if it does at all.
I don't mean that sword specifically, but I'm sure we'll get more DD oriented stuff in that damage range. Assuming 72-ish base damage swords, how much str/atk/whatever would need to be on it to oust 90 almace?
Sure, especially since no lvl correction favors Requiescat over CDC. The sword needs to have good enough stats to displace the 15% or so DPS increase that Aftermath gives.
I don't consider anyone a real BLU unless they know the pain of being scorned by the entire world.
didn't they just say in the dev notes that the level correction was for monsters damaging players, and not players damaging monsters?
I assumed it was both, and specifically recall them saying that they'll be boosting stats like mob DEF to account for level correction removal
Idk I remember seeing them say what we deal to mobs... at least for expansion stuff and I remember them adressing how mobs get a lvl correct boost for being higher lvl then us by saying suck it up and take double dmg but I don't remember if they mentioned mob dmg if we were higher lvl
Not mob damage if we're higher level, mob dmg if we're lower level. Monsters get a bonus to ratio when they're a higher level than you. I assume this is being abolished based on today's dev post, and player -> monster lvl correction removal theory comes from previous posts about them increasing monster stats to compensate for it.
I mentioned both silly. Well all 3 but meh. I'll look back for the exact things they said I guess maybe
it was in the new section today, and was referencing PUP so folks may have missed it.
---[[Question asking whether the Attuner or Target Marker automaton attachments will work against monsters in Adoulin as they have an effect of easing the level difference correction. Also notes that he just wanted to confirm that the level difference correction removal was just in one direction (not for players damaging enemies, just enemies damaging players).]]
bold is mine. from post #197 on the def tracker findings.
well thats some shit
