So what do you guys think of the new spells so far?
So what do you guys think of the new spells so far?
I'm whelmed.
Most of them aren't very special. They're minor upgrades we had to things before, the only really interesting ones being foul water and glutinous dart.
Maybe they just forgot to add wsc and they are supposed to be better
Abyssea spells didn't have WSC at first either, it was added later
Paralyzing Triad is Gravitation, makes Darkness with CDC
At least, they said there is a known issue with some blu spells' accuracy.
Embalming Earth is nice, 58 mp for a decent slow and decent dmg.
Glutinous Dart is a decent one too lol, 20 range 16 mp and recast/casting time is very low. 500~800ish dmg w/ spell dmg gear.
Which mob uses glutinous dart cause I am drawing a blank.

need to finish Triad WSC and paralysis strength later, mostly complete though. Interesting note: Paralyzing Triad is listed as belonging to the Elemental family, so there's that officially confirmed.
Drone Whirlwind test in Brenner, Seems to dispel all buffs (he had 10 buffs on):

Carcharian Verve:
65 mp cost. 17~18% atk, Went from 1,154 atk to 1,354. Duration: about 60s
Verve couldn't just be straight +200 could it? It's also totally outclassed by Meditation, nice!
Nah went from 96 atk > 115 atk naked.
Can't believe how good whirlwind is as a dispel.
So is it worth using Nature's Med in a high buff situation now that we get 20%? I really don't understand what SE is thinking sometimes with these short durations. They know we don't like short durations....
SE doesn't give a damn what players like or dislike. Look at the new RDM 2h. It is literally Ele Seal on a 6x longer timer.
and it works on less spells
Paralyzing Triad has a 15% proc rate on Paralysis or so. 77/498 procs, parsed by hand to avoid anomalies. Could use a bigger sample size, but it's so close that I doubt it's anything different. Its fTP and WSC are giving me problems, 1.125 (per hit ofc) fits very well for fTP, but I can't get any WSC to make complete sense.
Spoiler: show
I figured verve would be on par or weaker. It gives like 3 buffs so they cant all be strong and the brith side is you can use lit without wasting 6 points on meditation. I guess the point of UL is to circumvent the 20 blu spell equip limit. They're giving us utility spells on demand like stun terror atk up dispel, all we need is an aoe cure
I wouldn't be too terribly surprised if we get more spells in 6 months, but almost certainly no sooner than that.
