So going into Monstrosity seemingly reset my BLU spells since I was on it at the time and I can't remember what the fuck I had set. What're you guys using for sets these days? Don't have any of the Adoulin spells, but can try to nab them if the freebie promo allows it.
Went out and pulled various mobs in Kahmir, Marjami, and Yorcia:
Out of 347 targets hit with Tourbillion, defense down landed 51 times. So 14.7% of the casts were successful. That's with Buramenk'ah equipped.
Forgive me if this was already known, but, I just definitely learned Ctharchian Verve from a WKR, using requiescat do deal the killing blow.
Oh, really? Interesting, I guess they made it possible to learn them from WKR in the last update. Needing the killing blow would be a bit annoying though.
Perhaps it follows the same rules as Besieged RE: learning. Is it possible that is has always been this way or was it definitive that you could no matter what not learn spells from a WKR?
It definitely wasn't always that way, SE said specifically that it would not be possible to learn the spells from WKR. Definitely a new addition
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/threads/38100Only usable while under the effects of Unbridled Learning:
* These may only be learned from enemies that spawn in Delve content. (Added on Nov 5th, 2013)
Droning Whirlwind
Deals wind damage to enemies within area of effect. Additional effect: Dispel.
Carcharian Verve
Enhances attack and magic attack. Reduces spell interruption rate.
Blistering Roar
Enemies within an area of effect are frozen with fear.
Interesting. Well, I haven't learned droning whirlwind, I'll see if I can either reproduce what I did before or even learn it without the killing blow. The tchakka WKR was my first since the update, so I'm not entirely sure you couldn't learn it without the killing blow.
They had discussed changing it but didn't think they said they were doing it this update
Anyone test barbed crescent on any high level content. Does it too have low macc like tourbillion? Also, does azure lore increase macc at all?
Learned blistering roar in wkr just now - did not deal final blow and I was solo with 3 NPCs - so they changed it without mentioning it in the update notes.
Friend learned Droning Whirlwind just now and we did not get the final killshot either. So that's nice
Re: Azure Lore - It raises the multiplier of some magical blue magic and raises the TP value of physical blue magic to 350, it has no effect on accuracy or magic accuracy.
So are these spells still broke? I guess I could report another bug about this again. Admittedly, I play less of this game. I'm always gone, but I also try to keep up with ffxi through forums.
Well they said they would look into it awhile back but really said anything about it since. I'm kinda curiuos where they are in it but they probably will respond with the general we are still continuing our investigation of the problem please be patient and we will try fixing it eventuallly
Pic to confirm that you can learn in WKR now.
Spoiler: show
I've used it in all of them with little consequence, however it isn't ideal since BLU doesn't offer very much that other jobs don't in those fights (they resisted Sudden Lunge most of the time for me and terror didn't land at all, both of which using macc set). Infrasonics would be nice if it lasted longer. Guess some benefits would be that BLU can be sturdier than most other jobs and toss out White Wind every once in a while to help the healers.
