My personal experience learning the delve boss spells with full skill gear (500ish) and AF gloves on, has been 1/2 on Achuka, 1/1 on Muyingwa, and 1/11 with 119 gloves between Tchakka an Dakuwaqa, so its like it has always been it seems, nothing special other than you dont have to get kill shot.
Also, a friend got the spell without getting any xp from the reive, entered right as it died and got the spell, but i have no screenshot and he might've been exaggerating, so thats no proof in all honesty.
I wouldn't doubt it. A long time ago I learned a spell from a mob my pt was killing as I zoned in. To the point I didn't even get a message for the kill just learned sandspin as I zoned
Once I capped and merited Blue Magic, I went 1/2 on one spell and 1/1 on another. I'd like to get the third, but I haven't seen a Tchakka /shout in quite a while.
For some reason my server tends to do all 3 together. But yeah went last night more or less tanking each one most the fight since almost everyone else was trusting it up and I was triboxing and no learning. Maybe I should focus on +1ing my rf hands lol
Stacking BLU+ skill along with Assimilator Bazubands and you'll learn the spells much easier. With all of the ilvl gear, they're essentially doing the same thing with the new spells, while we can learn them at 99, we may need a higher skill threshold to do so.
Where exactly do i put the +magic damage part in the calculation of blue mage spell damage??
Im mainly wondering cause im thinking maybe dosis tathlum could be the best ammo piece for physical spells, specially since mavi tathlum doesnt break a tier for me anymore, and cant think of anything better that cheruski needle =/
Not sure if it's been tested but I doubt +magic dmg works for physical dmg spells
Well damn... you are absolutely right... i vaguely recall someone using Tamaxchi and posting increased damage in here.
I just tried feather storm on lvl1 mobs in ronfaure (bunnies and worms, no bats) and no +magic damage gave me higher results...
I am baffled by something though, 14/50 casts i got a 25% increase in damage which i have no idea where it came from (from 720 to 900, and 702 to 877), what am i missing?? blu spells cant crit unless chain affinity is active for certain spells, sneak attack or heavy strike right? are ranged attack spells different? And completely naked 3/6 feather storms did 504 and the other did 630.
This was the gear i was using, only things that changed were the rings and wanion belt to kinda balance the AGI from anahera saber
Err Luhlaza +1 head, hands and feet, assimilator jubbah +1
The +skill from weapons increases phys spell DMG.
iirc at first it was just blue attack but then they added D after. Which make sense considering D rises with level because of skill
Also as far as the 25% thing sounds suspiciously like a crit. Exactly 25% both times is exactly what a crit would do. Try +crit dmg gear see if that makes the diff more
Skill indeed adds both attack and D, but it doesn't bypass D caps so it's only really fully used on new spells. Magic damage doesn't affect physical spells unfortunately.
Well now im confused... low/high feather storm with athos pants on 504/510 and low/high 20%ish of the time i got 655/662 and bg wiki has athos pants at 4% crit damage
Changed mortal ray for animating wail for quicker casts and damage dropped a bit 498/504 and 646/655
So far my total (i guess crit rate, since athos boosts it) on feather storm is 25/116
Feather Storm crits normally because it's treated as a ranged attack. The damage difference between athos and non-athos = 4%. Dropping mortal ray lowered damage because you've lost fSTR by dropping STR.
Oh well thanks people, apologies for making a fuss, also i had no idea ranged blu magic could crit normally.
Thanks for the replies, back to lurking!
Not all of them can. Only pinecone bomb and feather storm are considered actual ranged attacks, so most people don't usually realize that they're special since it's such an underused mechanic
