But does that work in besieged? Do you have to be the last person to do an action on a mob to learn the stuff or can you just afk in the middle and learn everything?Originally Posted by Raineer
I think in beseiged there is just too much lag for the server and your connection to be possible even detect all the WS'es the mob makes.
I believe when there is no lag at all (which will never happen at the start for a beseiged atm) your learning chance will rise alot

Ive only done besieged like once or twice on my blu (God i hate besieged b/c I always get like 70 xp) but I never learned anything. I would just assume someone in your pt needs to do an action to the mob?
I love some of the people who I used to go learn spells with and be like "Omg you need to hit it atleast once with melee! Then cast atleast 2 spells! Spin in 3 circles, logout, come back, aggro 3 of the same monster, and then repeat!"
*Looking for pic of feather storm to post*
My assumption would be that your alliance/party needs to have the killing strike on the mob or at least have hate on it...
You can't just be in the remote vicinity, someone in your party needs to be on the hate list in some respect I'd think.
edit: Has anyone been in a multi-BLU party and both learned a spell at the same time on the same mob? I think it happened to me once duoing at a very low level but can't remember for certain.
Need to rule out that only one person can learn an ability each time it's used.
Guess it didn't say I was too far away, but also if it was anywhere near me I would have gotten XP off one of those mobs. After review of the pic I'm really confused.

Edit: About more than 1 person learning a spell, Me and a friend had that happen to us a lot when we got all our 60-65 spells together. Even tho I was higher level than him by about 3 he would still learn spells before me usually. I really think everytime mob uses the spell you have like a 15% chance of learning it.
Mobs have to yield exp for you to learn a BLU spell from them. Best guess is that you can't learn BLU spells in beseiged.Originally Posted by pii
That is really wierd. You get gil anywhere in the zone but yeah, maybe the "too far away" was replaced by learning the spell lmao
I believe you weren't standing anywhere near the mob, your reaction there seems pretty genuine :D
At least your did your researchMobs have to yield exp for you to learn a BLU spell from them. Best guess is that you can't learn BLU spells in beseiged.![]()
K, when SE said they need to yield xp, all they meant was you can't CFH on the monster. I learned spells off lvl 20 monsters that I missed at lvl 60 (obviously no xp gain). Ive heard of people learning spells in limbus (lowing) , dynamis (frypan), and like many others said Besieged (lol too many spells). Thanks for the post tho.Originally Posted by jaby
Can we institute a "must wait 1 month before first post" policy or something? So many first-posters strike out so badly on their first try. Maybe the dumber ones would be weeded out, and if nothing else they might actually read threads before trying to post first.Originally Posted by jaby
Yes. Me and my friend learned Blizckraktesfasrze thing from the dolls on the first mob.Originally Posted by Raineer

I'd guess you need to be in range when it uses it, and presumably when it dies.
I was all the way at Tzee whatever Yag God when the ninja in our group was at the 3 lever door. He ended up killing a yagudo and I got "You are too far away to earn experience" "Airshort learns Feather Storm"
Why don't we just ask Moochi?

He's learned something in Beseiged. There's no XXXX defeats the Merrow whatever, so he must not have been near it when the Merrow died. There's also no "You are too far away to receive experience points.", but it also doesn't show up in Airshort's SS.
Did someone in his party kill the merrow or did he just learn it randomly fighting something else?
Don't suppose you know the recipe for Goblin Drink, do ya?Originally Posted by jaby

The "you learned so-and-so" is the exact same font and color as /echo.

The only thing is that 95% of the people I know change their font colors, and if someone really is running around doing shit like that and posting it in a thread where we're trying to learn about the job, then you need to get a fucking life, cocksmoker.![]()
I dont think you can change echo colors, nor the color for the "you learned" message.
You can't change the echo colors, but when you learn blue magic its the same color as your skill up messages as if you were crafting. When I learn a spell it shows up in pink, but /echo will always be that dirty yellow color.
