Spells of the "macc" category in the spell map. It's mostly stuff where you want to focus on the related debuff sticking and not the damage part. Some spells of that category don't even deal damage.

Not 100% sure but should be these ones:
    Spoiler: show
    Code:
'1000 Needles', 'Absolute Terror', 'Auroral Drape', 'Awful Eye', 'Blastbomb', 'Blank Gaze', 'Blistering Roar', 'Blitzstrahl',
'Blood Drain', 'Blood Saber', 'Chaotic Eye', 'Cimicine Discharge', 'Cold Wave', 'Digest', 'Corrosive Ooze',
'Demoralizing Roar', 'Dream Flower', 'Enervation', 'Filamented Hold', 'Frightful Roar',

'MP Drainkiss', 'Sheep Song', 'Soporific', 'Sound Blast', 'Stinking Gas',
            'Venom Shell', 'Voracious Trunk', 'Yawn'

Jhakri, the body alone has 29 more INT over Ayanmo.

BLU aoe spells. Specifically the elemental ones. Should I just stack MAB/INT/etc. normal nuking equips? Or do they all use unique modifiers? Looking at Searing Tempest for example and it says 80%STR.

Outside of BA, you should gear for them the same.

It isn't so important that you need to dissect each spell.

Soooo old galka Sechs has farmed 176/196 spells over the last 5 days.
UUUUNGH! It's been quite a trip.
    Two questions:

    1) Can you get the Vagary spells from the single fights thing they added recently?
    2) I've heard that the best way to farm the 8 elemental spells is in Skirmish. Which combination of items do you suggest me to use? I've been told if I use a specific one I can summon Kirin and let him solo stuff while I go around farming the spells.

Yes, and if you are soloing, Kirin.

Alluvion Yorcia Skirmish is definitely the best way to learn the hybrid elemental spells, and Twitherym/Fluturini are there too if you haven't gotten theirs. As you may be familiar, you just want to make sure you have Obsidian Shards to convert to Puissance at the start. It's been a while, but, far as I recall, any of the Shijin should typically be fine taking care of the first floor for you. Kirin is the most reliable, since he'll end up summoning the others, but it's usually a bigger deal if trying to clear multiple floors as they get progressively more difficult.

The possible consideration/tradeoff is that the Eudaemon item also influences Escalent mob type, and using a Ring or Cape instead would skew things towards elementals, albeit with a possibly less reliable Shijin.

Otherwise, the only piece that really matters is the torso - higher tier means a larger map with more Escalents, and more time. Visage is for rewards, Legs are for Noetic Ascensions, so neither are particularly important for spell farming.

Alright, haven't farmed Alluvion Yorcia Skirmish in ages and of course I was never on BLU.
Guess I'll go for T-whatever head/legs, T5 body and Eudaemon sash, focusing not much on getting clears, but on farming all the elementals, hoping to be done within the first 2 floors then Warp ringing out xD

Is Carcharian Verve from the Shark WKR/Delve the only Aquaveil spell for BLU btw?

Escalents repop, so if the only thing you're after is spells, you can just stay on the first floor.

Far as I recall, Carcharian Verve is the only native Aquaveil spell. Might also depend on why you ask. If it's about learning, Verve is one of the most worthwhile Unbridled spells to get. Likely the most commonly used one after Mighty Guard. So, it's well worth prioritizing, even if it's annoying (it was a stubborn one for me).
If it's more a question of use, however, then it'd be more nuanced. If you're setting up for cleaving, then chances are you'd be /RDM or /SCH anyway and have Aquaveil available. In turn, while Verve offers a very powerful Aquaveil effect (10 interrupts prevented), BLU can wear a good chunk of the +Aquaveil gear available, making the basic spell you can toss up before every pull likely more than good enough. If you're decked out, you'd be looking at 7 (8 under Light Arts) interrupts prevented, which would probably make Verve a waste of your Unbridled timer in most cases.

Yeah I was asking mostly for cleaving, not like I'm gonna skip any spell regardless >:D
For me the absolute worst to learn have been Battery Charge, Empty Trash and uhm, Enervation I think. Spent around 2hrs for the first, over 1h and 20 for the second and around 1hr for the third.
That's with +3 AF hands btw!
Most spells I've been learning within 3 usage, most on the first to be fair.

Out of curiosity, why would you go /SCH or /RDM for cleaving? What do those 2 jobs offer, other than aquaveil without relying on the 5mins CD of Unbridled Learning?
I only have Amalric+1 to boost Aquaveil on BLU.
Also I'm not getting the Light Arts part giving Aquaveil+1? It's probably something I forgot about from SCH.
Nvm I just checked, forgot the enha skill thing, of course Light Arts give more skill allowing to reach the second tier, which is +1 hits. Forgot about it because it's usually a non-issue on mage jobs.

Ungh, don't wanna mess with non-ilevel gear in the main slots, but I guess it's gonna be worth to at least get an Empatikos Rope. Sigh, inventory+1... I'm so starved these days. Need to retire some jobs damn it.

With /RDM, for example, you have the option to use Phalanx. If you have an appropriate +Phalanx set for it (as you likely do from RUN), that'll be far more effective against a bunch of weaker mobs hitting you than Barrier Tusk will be. Convert, if you aren't fighting things you can Magic Hammer/etc. Diaga can be very useful for rounding up mobs. You could also opt to rely on Refresh or even Cure IV and not set Blue Magic for those tasks. Same with Stoneskin over Diamondhide.

/SCH is probably less common, but mostly for Storms. Still get Stone or something to tag mobs with if needed.

Either way it's just what you find effective.

Props to you. That's some dedication. I'm just starting BLU and need to learn spells as well. Any suggestions/tips? Which guide did you use as a list?

There's a guide that Isiolia linked to me a few posts ago, plus a spreadsheet (that has a couple more spells), same post.
Guide is fantastic but doesn't take into consideration the fact that you're gonna be level 99 with lotsa ilevel gear and even with a level1 sword you still deal too much damage to the low level targets that the guide suggests for most spells.
At that point you can either go /WHM and spam dia to feed TP (but it takes forever!) or you just pick higher level target with like /WAR and defender lol.

Can learn probably like, what, 80% of spells inside the 9 abyssea areas.
For Meeble use Batallia Downs Adjunct 1, super easy.
For the other spells that seem tricky ask here.

Some spells have conditions to be used. For instance it's not written anywhere but I found out that Blooddrake from Vampyrs is very very unlikely to be used under 75% health. Which is why I wasted almost 3 hours of my life tryin to get it with no luck.
That's because 51%>100% HP monsters use TP moves when reaching 3000 tp.
26%>50% they do it when they reach 2000TP
1%>25% they do it when they reach 1000 TP

So I was always bringing the mob around 25% then feeding it lotsa TP.
It usually works good, but for stuff like Bloddrake it won't work.
Naming just one example I found out about today D:

Before you start though, are you aware that you need only like 80ish spells on BLU?
I did this because I'm kinda OCD and "gotta catch 'em all" type of attitude, but other than that like half of BLU spells hardly have an use these days.

Also on the topic of Wurdalaks (Vampyrs in Bostanieaux Obliette). There are 3 in the main room and 1 in the secondary room. NE part of map 1.
Keep in mind that those vampyrs share a spawn with the Dogs and Bats around. So if you only see 1 Vampyr around or no Vampyr around of the possible 4, slaughter everything and wait for repop.
Repop is fast, like 5 mins I think.

If you got any problem/question about spells I'm still very fresh, just send me a PM here or on FFXIAH or a /tell in game if u're on Asura, I'll be glad to share what I learned.

Going and spamming dia to get spells is a waste of time. Almost all mobs have a higher level target to learn from instead.

For 99% of spells, I agree.
    There's a few exeptions.
Stuff that you're farming outside of Abyssea, in a zone where there's only a bunch of targets who have long recast and where's other mobs aggroing you on the way to your target, going /WHM or /RDM can help:

    1) avoid aggro (not like you would struggle killing them, but it slows things them)
    2) you can feed TP until monster reaches like 10% HP, if at that point he still hasn't used the TP move you want, turn around and spam dia.

I had to resort doing it in Vahzl for instance, because there's only a few monsters of a certain type, the repop is slow (15 mins?) and going from 1 "floor" to the other takes time when you have to kill the memory receptacle and so on.
There's a couple of oher situations where I feel like spamming dia helped me, but again it only applies to spells where your monster choice is limited.
As I mentioned u can get the majority of stuff from zones like Abyssea, Adoulin or high level targets that were added in the end of the level 99 era. For all of these, you really have enough targets/choice that it's not worth to waste time spamming dia.

Oh, also it depends on your setup. I was completely solo. If you have like 1-2 mules and can coordinate spamming dia on all of them, then it's a different story I guess.

So yesterday I went and try to cleave something in Escha Zi'tah (Puks+Dragons) and Ru'aun (Aerns + Phuabos + Gargoille) and WOW.
Spectral Floe was doing like >13k damage despite my shitty noob BLU gear with no job points o_O
I wasn't expecting to perform this good with my bad gear.
Is Spectral Floe considered the strongest spell in most situations? Tried a couple others and while they were very tough, they weren't as powerful as Spectral Floe.

I used /RDM and I had the following buffs up:
    Spoiler: show
Phalanx (with augmented Taeon gear and I dunno how much Enha skill, around 250 probably?)
    Occultation (~550ish BLU skill)
    Cocoon
    Protect5
    Haste1
    Regen1
    Refresh1
    Stoneskin
    Sakura
    Moogle
    Brygid
(I forgot to use Star Sybil lol)

Was hanging around with a 50% PDT +20% mov speed build.
In Zi'tah they couldn't damage me even if they wanted haha
In Ru'aun I pulled A LOT of stuff and I was seeing some damage but nothing serious. I dropped to like 1350 HP.
Stuff was dead with a single spell so my MP wasn't hurting either haha. It has to be said I have like 9 or 10 MP refresh in escha zones.

Wow, I'm still so excited it worked so good. I swear I didn't expect to work THIS good from the start hahahah

    Edit:
Also, which build do you guys suggest for cleavin?
I was /RDM and used the following
    Spoiler: show
Delta Thrust + Barbed Crescent (for dual wield)
    Glutinous Dart
    Spectral Floe
    Subduction
    Entomb
    Tenebral Crush
    Cocoon
Barrier Tusk (for the HP bonus with Glutinous Dart, I was actually using Phalanx instead of Tusk)
    Occultation
    Dream Flower
    Magic Hammer
    Memento Mori
    Cursed Sphere
Reactor Cool (which I forgot to use lolz)
    Sound Blast

Anything else I can use to make it better once I get more BLU points? I'm at 65 atm iir

Oh also weapons. I know Nibiru Cudgels x2 are probably the best for this? But I was using Sequence MH + Kaja Sword OH.
Not sure what else I already own that I could use in their place. I have 2x perf Vampirism. They have more Mab than Kaja/Sequence, more Mdmg than Kaja, but less Macc skill than Sequence, so I dunno...
Need to check if I have something else I can use. I have 2x Perf Malevolence but BLU can't use them alas.
