I've done about 10 besieged, havn't learned a single spell yet. Static getting angry that I'm so ahead now so Im gonna stop trying.

Besieged is debatably the worst place to learn a spell. The odds of your own PT/Alliance killing a mob, ontop of the chance of you easily dying on each mob, just seems to make it not worth the time at all. It's something nice on the side while getting 700EXP, but definately not a viable means of learning spells.Originally Posted by Not Kuno
Actually the whole death thing is mistranslated by SE as well. What they meant to say is if you're dead, you won't learn a spell. If you're alive, no matter if the mob has killed you 20 times over, when it dies you get a chance at learning.Originally Posted by Lockecole
Yeah I didnt mean that if you die you dont have a chance to learn, I know for a fact I've died and reraised and killed the same mob and learned the spell. I was mainly referring to just how much downtime you have as a low lvl BLU in Besieged if you're constantly dying and having to wait around...all the while risking that mob dying while you're currently dead and not learning it.Originally Posted by Dezzimal
Didnt people say (read: claim) they learned spells in besieged while solo ?
Only reason I think people might be having problem is because of the your level - mob lvl difference. When I was doing poison breath, me and a friend went to eldieme and someone tanked the Tomb Wolves for us, or whichever the lower lvl ones are. Went something like 0/7 there. My friend went to do stuff in sky, I dragged my ass to Gusgen. First Bandersnatch I lucked out and it did Poison Breath, and I went 1/1.
I don't think mob lvl VS your lvl matters. Me and two of my friends got Refueling off the clusters in Mount Zhayolm at 50 and it didn't take long at all. Took 5ish tries for 2 of us and 2-3 for my other friend. Those are DC-EM at 75.
That's exactly how we learned it for my friend too.Originally Posted by Moochi
Learning Blue Magic really does seem completely random but I (and everyone else it seems) can't shift this niggling feeling that there's something more to it.
At 63 blu i learned warm-up out of nowhere from besieged, was fighting a mamool drg (Only had 4 people in party, and all in same mob), Then suddenly i get the message:
Sint learns Warm-Up!
(Mamool drg was at like 60% of hp)
So Dont need to be atacking the mobs to learn spell >_<
But at 66 i tried to learn enervation/diamondhide and no luck (Did 2 trolls besieged)
So besieged really sucks to learn spells >_<

Friend insisted on going back to misaroux for hers so we went and she got first try there ;;
And i did the same you did for refueling
I dunno I've been having trouble learning the later lvl spells dual boxing a nin tank using kraken to slap stuff.
and took awhile even if I'm the same lvl as the spell.
and randomly I see a naked mithra in nynja's pic!
Can anyone tell me a website with all the Stat Modifiers for BLU spells?
Or mainly
Frenetic Rip
Disseverment
Diamondhide
Thanks in advance.
http://www.geocities.co.jp/Playtown-Part/6371/blue.html is the site I use but you need to be able to read JP.
Anyway,
frenetic rip: STR_20 DEX_20
Disseverment: STR_20 DEX_20
Diamond Hide is unknown, I dont think it even has a stat modifier :/
I've been working so hard figure those out and the JP beat me to it ; ; At least I figured out most of the spells and damage-types of the physical spells. (Some spells are actually considered ranged attacks even) Guess I can always play with cactaurs + diamondhide
I might've missed the posts listing the damage types of the physical attacks, so can you or anyone else list them please? thanks ><Originally Posted by Bluetonberry
Been doing alot of Sea that involves Jailer of Temperance, which changes forms that only take a single type of damage and while I wreck it with Disseverment and Canonball I'd like to know what else would be good for it's other forms.
Also, is it just me or does body slam suck? I'm not sure why I went through all the trouble in getting it :/
Okay, I'm open to corrections on these; If someone is extreamly bored feel free to double check on Temprance because a few of these are just educated guesses based on my damage tests. (If you're curious, I used Arhiman, Bones, Slimes, and bats for most of these tests.)
-Slashing
Foot Kick

Corrections/Confimations welcome!

Completely unrelated to the topic. Just found this in my photobucket today and it brought back fond memories. Carry on <3
Is this only with CA or just in general? Basically, the thing about Physical BLU spells be reliant only on STR is not entirely true then? Sorry if this has already been covered.Originally Posted by Razz
From that site (I dont read JP but can just look up by level) it seems vertical cleave and cannonball have rediculously high potential damage for HNMsOriginally Posted by Razz
The high level breaths too (once we get blue magic skill gear.)
Well without TP my cannonballs do 620 with sneak attack on tiamat, I can't imagine it with TP D: And yeah, vertical cleave looks to be strong.Originally Posted by Jooeetheplatypus
Heat breath is the highest damaging breath move we have, 50% of your HP so if you have 2k HP like I do, you'll do 1000dmg. Haven't tried it on a high level mob yet, I'd imagine resists out of the ass until AFs and job specific merits.
Xerlic - those are just in general. The damage is raised at 100tp, 150tp, 300tp and Azure Lore status.
Further - lol
Go go mithra with mass STR gear?Originally Posted by Xerlic
I got lower 70's dex and near 100 STR in gear/spell combo's... can't wait for Lv 72
My frenetic rip seems to be getting slightly weaker though on higher stuff, but dimentional death and death scissors still carrying a nice high damage on everything at 50%TP+
... well death scissors seems to be constant on everything while dimentional death does less on some things then others randomly.
