Has anyone managed to track down a Leech Scimitar? I'm really curious on how good it'll be offhand for BLU against some mobs with MP. If it has the process rate and strength of Lillith's Rod, it might be pretty badass.

As was mentioned in another thread, even if the MP Drain on it sucks, the D, Delay and modest MP boost make it an excellent weapon.

I don't have any info on it but I'm very interested in finding out myself so ears to the floor.

Looks like a good solo/refreshless pt sword to use when mobs can give you MP, otherwise I'd prefer dissector

Okay, I didn't want to make a new post for this, but I'm confused and its pissing me off ; ;

So I hit level 60 Blue Mage, and I run out and level my Thief up because all I've been hearing about is how BLU/THF can do these bad ass 1000-1300 Death Scissors, well I've been partying /THF since 60 and I can't seem to get close to those kind of numbers, I usually hit 800-900, but have yet to break 1000. Mostly around 850.

My question is, what the fuck am I doing wrong? I'm about to lose my mind.

Here's what my set up looks like, although I usually have +42 STR, but I have lower in this party because we had a COR so I was on Dispel and Debuff Duty.

Need some TP with death scissors to do the 1000+ range, doing it at 0% tp averages 600-800

100% tpish would get you the 1000 ranges depending on what mob it is, how high def the mob is etc etc

I swear 9/10 wses they do is zerk, and I cant fight hard enough ones to feed TP efficiently or i'll die from self destruct. So I'm h2hing. GOD I HATE YOU SPUNKIES.

Beat the crap out of a bomb with a stick till it booms. Easy enough. GKT's give enough TP to get the thing going.

Don't know what to tell you that wouldnt be obvious, 100+tp, macro in STR gear, have STR spells set?

For me a regular SADS is about 400-500, SACADS with less than 100 tp will run 6-800 or so, more than 100tp hovers around 1k+ depending on mob level/how much tp.

Best one I remember offhand was a 1550ish one on an Imp in mire, that was with AL tho and about 220ish tp >.>

Go after the ones in Santuary of Zi'tah, they are soloable if you are decent level (54-56ish).

Might depend on what youre fighting then, I know colibiri were easy as hell to break 1k damage on, erucas not so much.

These numbers are on VT raptors in Valley of Sorrows and VT-IT Defoliators in Aydeewa Subterrane. I even tried sticking Frightful Roar and Stinking Gas and I still have yet to break 900, let alone 1k+

Its really pissing me off and discouraging me, it feels like i can't do my job right and I don't want to play it if I'm no good at it

no idea then, your gear looks fine, my guess is its either somewhat IT+ mobs, or the mob is jsut strong vs your death scissors.. or that the "monster correlation" thing gives you a damage down effect when used vs the wrong thing /guess

Well beasts (Raptors) are weak against vermin, and even with my AF hat and 300% and SATACAAL I still did 886... Even with a bard in the party, and Roar and Gas on the mob, (the thing was so weak I was hitting 60-70 damage with my sword cause my attack was so buffed and his defense was so low)
