Well you don't really need it till you start fighting crabs, then Distortion + BLM + Ice Break is insta killed crab.

Well let me timeline this a bit:

(This is just what I did as far as exping goes)

Get spell at 60

60 you can exp on lesser col's for good chains, I think it did decent numbers then (not really sure if I expd on them still at 60 though)

61 I did the green crawlers in subteranne and I got poor results with DS, I actually think I unset the spell and did other options.

I think around 63 we did the date erucas/cols by halvung zone, spell sucked on date erucas, but was better on the cols (starting to break 1k)

by 65 doing the cols was breaking 1k easily

66-68ish I think most of my pts were on the flame crawlers/jagils in Mt. Z, decent numbers but not great (still breaking 1k+ fairly well)

69-70 most parties were imps/flies/jnuns in the mire, this is where the damage kinda picked up for me to where I kinda expect 1k+ all the time. 71 now and still doing good damage there when I did exp there (havent pt'd since new update), did good damage on sea puks as well with it.

It may just be you need a few more levels to start pumping out better damage, or perhaps the mobs you're exping on arent all that great for damage (I didnt do raptors so I dunno, but those crawlers in subteranne did suck for me)

Well beasts (Raptors) are weak against vermin, and even with my AF hat and 300% and SATACAAL I still did 886... Even with a bard in the party, and Roar and Gas on the mob, (the thing was so weak I was hitting 60-70 damage with my sword cause my attack was so buffed and his defense was so low)

Raptors are lizards.

I solo'd the golems in beaucedine for it at 49, went 1/1 on it too.

Did I learn the same Ice Break? Mine doesn't break 300 on TW shit in Tahrongi much less 5-600 on EXP mobs.

Well I finally broke 900, although my average is still about 700-850 as 63 BLU. Still not putting up the numbers others are talking about though ; ;

Honestly, I think it's a racial thing. You're a taru, so you have much lower STR than most races, and apparently that makes a big difference. I know a taru BLU on my server who can't keep up with me worth a damn on CASATA spells, because I'm a Hume.

What do you have.. like 5 or 6 more STR? It's not gonna make that big of a deal.

Yeah, the difference between my STR and whatever someone elses is (If they even have +44 STR) isn't going to make a couple hundred point difference. Although I am quite tired of hearing that arguement. (MNK75) I know that my STR is lower than everyone elses, but it doesnt make as much difference as people think.

most of the "big damage" numbers I saw was people using them on Dhalmels...correct me if I'm wrong.
