I just checked it with Distance plugin, Cannonball's range is 18.0

I can claim shit instantly from across a Jnun bog, it's fantastic

yeah its pretty awsome claiming, and even good at stealing mobs especially with cacoon up and if you critical XD

That's shits fantastic in Ballista. It's Priceless to see a guy running off And Then Get Nailed With A CA + Cannonball for like 500~ Dmg.(With Defense Buffs of Course!)

Is that after a blm sleepgas and solo's your entire party?

lol usually poison pots solve that, or if i'm in pashow Pinecone Bomb + Disseverment usually takes care of blm's... Except if they are galka!

Galka not a problem, after sleepga they out of MP anyway.

What spells are good for ballista? I find myself getting owned so much. I like Frypan and Pinecone bomb but I see people do stuff like Blastbomb alot. Anyone have any advice? Rdm sub all the way too, right?

I wouldn't recommend blast bomb or pinecone bomb since its soorta slow cast, anyone paying attention would easily avoid it unless they are close (and probably trying to kill you...?)

I use alot aoe as I find myself usualy being zerged by 2-3+ people and rarely 1vs1 (which most know to be running or die)

temporaly shift, actnic whatever burst, frypan (for removing shadows or last resort run away when being mobed)

most my melee spells is disseverment, frenetic rip, cannonball, headbutt
I prefer disseverment first since its long last poison and it ticks about 3-4% hp every 3 seconds on a running taru blm or rdm for 1min+?
never timed it but it took a 30%ish hume thf down to death

frenetic rip seems to do overall best damage (even if using food disseverment seems to do lower), cannonball is nice for off to the side mages using spells.

magic fruit, metalic body, salene coat (if alot blm) cacoon MP conserve, MP refresh etc etc forgo the rest.

Depending on what there is alot of I usualy put more defense/attack spells or aoe spells

forgot to mention I mostly do blu/nin
thungada3 with salene coat + metalic body brings it down to about 350-450 damage (directly on you) it absorbs about 3-5 mnk hits (no beserk)
which is enough time to stun and rape someone and for the small MP cost and only 1 point loss its not to bad

3 shadows -> then having to hit through 3-5 times to break stoneskin, more then enough to almost massacre a mnk/war(which most all of'em go as)

I'd probably go... flash -> frypan -> disseverment(about where a mnk/war decides to be running usualy if 1vs1) frenetic rip or if they are running cannonball and chase. I wear crimson so I usualy chase people unless they are running back toward there team.

Solution I found for that where melee try that run back n forth attacking you is to either 1...

follow them and when they turn to attack cast or
run away from them when they run also, and when they get close turn and run a little bit past them and cast, usualy catches people off gaurd and run right into the spell as they won't expect it first time

Crimson legs reaaaaly help in ballista in killing people

I know crimson helps but I'll never get a pair. I hate it when people do that running thing I had a mnk do that it pissed me off so much. -.-; I just kept pressing Disseverment till he ran into it.

Ballista has turned into Quake style "Jump around" battles where you run in and out or run in circles around people so they always get the "unable to see xxxx" message while you kill them. Or worse, the sleepga/horde then tear people apart before they wake up method.

thats one of the few reasons why I dont do ballista.

I only do diorama with friends. I had someone try the "run around" thing with my BLU, I was trying to play straight up, but when he did that... Disseverment, Hysteric Barrage, Frenetic Rip, Vertical Cleave and he was dead in under 10 seconds.

Yeah but good thing blu only weakness is the "run back n forth" tactic, but if you time it right, you can pretty much rape someone.

Too bad runnig circles on a blu is pretty useless since the spells have a 360 degree cast XD

Well, there are other forums you can easily find the answer. In anycase from what I've seen /nin and /thf are the main subs for blu in exp. If you can't figure out why they that's your problem.
