Just got my Melee frame as well:
from the base frame it gave my Puppet (@10)
+48 HP 181 => 229
took MP to 0
1 Melee skill (30 => 31)
took ranged to 0
took magic to 0
STR+1 (17=>18 )
DEX-1 (15=>14)
VIT+3 (15=>18 )
AGI-2 (13=>11)
INT-2 (13=>11)
MND+1 (14=>15)
CHR-1 (16=>15)
Strobe is enmity+ and provoke.
Any idea where to find information in-game or out of game about it, or any other puppet related items?Originally Posted by Enitsu

alright was wondering to other puppetmasters out there, do you have more then 1 of the same attachment or just 1 of each? and has anyone tested yet how long u keep using them until they break? im kinda ehhh on constant use of them, i use them everyother fight and still no break yet. (only lvl 11) i havent done the 2 hour ability yet either, so i dunno how much stress that causes on ur puppet. and which sub are yall using? since im 75 mnk, ive been using that as my sub, and which quest did yall do to get more silver coins?
Just one of each.
Somewhere along the line, someone said you can equip more than one, and that "rumor" got around fast, but in actuallity you cant equip more than one. You can, however, use the manuevers more than once to stack the effects. light maneuver once for 1hp a tic, twice for 2hp a tick, and so on. That is the "source" of that rumor i believe.
At this point, i'm strongly inclined to believe that they do not break, ever. Otherwise, someone somewhere would have reported one breaking by now, and that hasn't happened. I have no idea why they stack, possibly due to their synth materials. SE figured that making each synth result in more attachments would balance the economy they way they felt it needed to be balanced... Maybe they felt that only one per synth would cause an unbalance in the economy in other words. Again, not sure why, since they also come from NPC. Just speculating here.
dude who knows everything about pup, where do i get the stuff for strobe, i need provoke ;o alrdy have oroboon lure
It's crafted; you can find the correct recipe on ffxi.somepage.comOriginally Posted by Kongol
Some attachments seem to have different attachements depending on the frame.
The frame determines the puppet's stats and behavior. The head just changes the number of elemental equipment slots.
Head does behavior, frame does stats/hp.Originally Posted by Tahngarthor
anyone got any info on how the manuvers work, like the stoneskin one (or the active ablities)? As it is i'm convinced that there's a timer behind the abilities much like there are when PC's do it...
As far as I can tell, maneuvers work in three ways:
One: the ability. Abilities have timers; if you use the maneuver when the timer is up, the puppet will use the ability (ex: stoneskin). It is possible that if you use one earth before the ability is up, and then another after it's up, the stoneskin is stronger... but I'm having a hard time verifying that part. ; It's also possible that by using fire maneuver you can control when the puppet will ws but I haven't played with that much...
Two: When the maneuver is active, the puppet gains some sort of buff. If you have light maneuver on the puppet gains regen, dark gets refresh, etc. These ones have the qualification of active maneuver in their description.
Three: Use of the maneuver strengthens the buffs of the corresponding element. Like, if I use thunder maneuver with the accuracy item equipped, the puppet's accuracy will increase.
I only have the original frame and the puppet parts from npc so far; might be stuff I'm missing.
I think you can only overload if you use the same maneuver twice in a row. Also you can have 3 buffs at once if you semi-spam them. More than that and the newest one you use will overwrite the oldest. (possibly mentioned before in this thread, but I don't remember seeing it.)
Yes, I did register just to participate in puppetmaster debate. ._.
Not necessarily twice in a row, just many times. You can use light 3 times in a row to give your puppet 3hp/tic regen with the proper piece and not overload yourself. However, if you keep doing that with not enough time between, you tend to overload.Originally Posted by pennylain
Just as a heads-up, the last frame you get (at 30) will require 1 gold piece.
Ah... I guess I spam them too fast then XD
Calling your puppet, zoning, etc seems to reset the overload to 0 ... so if you do that, then use a manneauver, they will immediately overload.Originally Posted by pennylain
The good side of that is, zoning clears all negative buffs on the puppet (poison, etc)
I noticed one of the puppet things needs something that is crafted with moval water.. maybe that region won't be controlled by beastman sometime soon.. I could only hope.
Hahahahaha right.Originally Posted by sekaran
