I think the job is going to suck PT wise until some better attachments with DD moves are implimented. For now, PT with other PUPs or solo so people can't see just how bad you do suck. They can't do anything mind blowing yet.

(RNG pup does good damage though. ---- At 30s with capped Automaton Archery, did like 50-70 a shot and 90-100 on WS at 100% TP, with Enthunder and things not earthabsed, its good)

okay so is the first melee frame the only melee frame? shield bash shocked me to he seems to be on a timer and use it occaisionally when a mob uses a TP move. also my puppet has more than slapstick it uses string cutter and some other WS i know that mine and a friend's were SC'ing when we duo'ed. hope this helps somehow

Yeah, Shield Bash surprised me too when I first used my Valoredge model.

I have all the attachments (EDIT: have Analyzer now), but so far the puppet seems like an amazing tank at low levels, solo. I wonder how it'll end up in parties, later.

It's nice having voke, flash, shield bash, etc. with stoneskin so I can just beat on mobs and links while my puppet tanks them.

I haven't gotten to use my valoredge, had to try and make some gil since attachments put me near broke ; ; My girlfriend was in a 6 Puppetmaster party today, and said it would have worked great had someone else had Strobe. In a party now and it appears to be doing nicely with a SAM/WAR tanking and her automaton taking a few hits here and there with his stoneskin on.

While playing around with my new mage puppet and its attachments, i found out you can get bonus stats when changing them. But when i modified it and put back the same setup, i didn't get them again or got something totally different.

I really don't understand, try changing your attachments a lot, don't need to activate your puppet, sometimes you'll get bonuses that don't wear off but you lose them if you modify anything again and they seem to be totally random.

Has anyone a clue about that ?

I can get Chain 3's normally as long as there are enough tough/em monsters around me that arn't really irritating.

Well, there is already a shit-ton of crappy level 70+ players on the jobs that have been around since the beginning of the game, a little variety of crappy players on new jobs certainly could not hurt.

Correct. I started COR off as COR/PUP (before touching PUP), and kicked ass all the way to level 5 where I used my Corsair's Die, and switched to PUP main and levelled that. My automaton's skills were capped for the first level by the time I started levelling PUP.
