has anyone checked Bahamut Hose either in DATs or in game to see if PUP was added to them? Dune Boots added PUP to the list, so maybe Bahamut Hose will actually have a purpose now.

Yes they can use it now.Originally Posted by Odd
Did anybody test them on a non-mnk to see if you get kicks?Originally Posted by Not Kuno
Only when attacking h2h can someone kick. Even a mnk using club/staff/anything else wont kick unless they go h2h.Originally Posted by Jooeetheplatypus

But do, say, WHMs h2hing get kicks?
I think so.
Yes, although don't get any h2h weapons (that I can think of) so they would have to unequip their weapon and fight barehanded. Only worth it on jobs that get suitable h2h skill (mnk, pup, thf, nin).
WAR up until PUP release, had the second highest Hand-to-Hand skill of all jobs. (D)Originally Posted by Not Kuno
You just need the trait and to be using H2H, if Bahamut's Hose is anything like Brutal Earring any job using H2H will Kick.
there's a few 75 PUP on my server and all they say is it's really lame at 75 and just got worse as you went up in levels. I'm not sure if it's because they are gimp or not or what. has anyone seen anything productive from a 65+ PUP yet?
I don't know any English players on my server with Puppetmaster high and have only seen the shellholder and sack of an old school JP HNM LS with it at 75. It's definitley less popular than Blue Mage and Corsair but it would be nice to have a decent high level Puppetermaster write us an essay on what the job is like toward the end.Originally Posted by Tymon
I have been levelling PUP in my spare time, because its fun to play with (experimenting with solo play, too).Originally Posted by Tymon
However, a PUP has everything they'll ever have by level 1, with the exception of Retrieve at level 10, and a new frame every 10 levels until 30. Unless good new abilities are added later, like level 70 BPs that SMN gets, I don't think PUP will scale well at all into the later levels.
I can see PUP as being a remarkable solo job just as it stands now, as I can solo T at 34 as PUP/WAR fairly easily. In later levels, by the time mobs hit hard enough that /WAR is a bad idea, I'll also be better able to control hate with my damage. I don't sub NIN now because hate is loose enough that my puppet can pull hate with a cure or during the opening enfeebles, despite deactivate/reactivating between each spell.
But sadly, unless PUP ever gets any new abilities (new gear won't cut it), they'll have no place in endgame events or even higher level parties when the difference between A and C- skill starts to become significant.
People don't realize that all (yes, ALL) the new jobs aren't finished yet, PUP being the one job that is greatly unfinished. There's nothing new after 30, while COR and BLU get new stuff beyond 50. You think the few attachments out there are it? I don't, it's only been like what? A month? Give it sometime when it's complete to judge it. PUP is so blatently unfinished it pains me.
PUP seems fine, even if PUP remains as it is until 75, as a solo job. What scares me is if this is what SE intended, and therefore PUP never will get anything to better suit them for party or endgame play.Originally Posted by Elcura
It's good for PT's, but I still think SE will add new attachments that will make life easier solo'ing and PT'ing, so far solo'ing is pretty gay unless you're lucky with overloads (least the way I did it, which was probably a bad way but it worked for a while).Originally Posted by Khamsin
List of things that'll probably come if SE aren't retarded (and there seems to be a cure, as of late):
New animators
New attachments
New gear (this is the only thing I'm certain about)
New frames
New WS
PUP get no quest WS, at all. Every job can use a quest WS, but PUP can't, which kinda leads me to believe that either the Automaton gets a quested WS rather then the PUP itself seeing as the Automaton has at least a B skill in everything.
I doubt these are the final pieces, I think we will get a couple more based on AoE cures and higher damage. Anyway, I hope they create a relic body piece.
I was all excited when I heard the third job was puppetmaster, but the more I play it, the more blah it seems. I like being able to solo, but it's still risky, and you're absolutely right about it currently having no good place in end-game. I can't think of how it will be uniquely useful like any of the other jobs.
What really disappointed me was when they said the job was originally going to be necromancer (badass!) but they scrapped the idea because pets would be weaker during the day. It made my invisible goth friend all emo.
Digging through the DATs I noticed that the puppet Head/Frame and Attachments have a huge amount of blank space in the DAT File. Something like room for another 30 Head/Frame Pairs, as well as 15ish Attachements of each Element.
But the job just seems very unfinished considering puppets don't get anything new between levels 1 and 75 aside from frame choices. I really hope they add Frame-Specific Attachements with Level Requirements.
I heard about that too (which is why I said we'd get more stuffs). I reckon there's gonna be an AF frame and Animator as well as maybe Relic ones too.Originally Posted by Faranim
I'll carry on playing PUP, because the potential it has is amazing and it really is such a fun job, I don't regret lvling it to where it is now and I'll continue lvling too.
I level with a PUP in a static, currently level 49. Their damage added to their puppet's parses reasonably well. At least in our setup, a PUP seems to fit pretty well. Hate kinda flies around a bit with a war/nin and mnk/war in the party. Since the PUP's hate is split, there is little fear of the mob turning on the PUP like it does the MNK and creating a veritable MP sponge.
I think we don't really know what PUP brings to the table until their AF and their level 70+ WS (whether that winds up being for themselves or their pet) is released.
