And yet 120+ fafnirs later, people in my old HNMLS are still getting Abjs they want from him. Here's their news from May 1st, jobs inserted by me so you can see that they aren't just picking up aq. abj for pure melees.

Earlier that day we managed to grab a Fafnir. Congrats to Hektik (RDM) on A.Abjuration: Feet.

On saturday we snagged NQ behemoth for some a few Hides, and then grabbed Fafnir that dropped N.Abjuration: Head for Legulas (WAR).

You might be right about a greater pay off for a smaller group of people farming sea. The problem is, no LS is going to take down JoL or AV without at least 36+ people. Not that it takes 36 people to kill JoL but there will inevitably be people who can't be online when you pop him. I'm not saying we have the optimal number of members in the LS or anything but to accomplish a lot is going to take a significant number of players and some people, unfortunately, will never see torques.

18 main alliance, 1 add pt for aerns (atleast how my LS fights it), and 1 outside pt of healers.

My point was, you CAN NOT do everything in sea with merely 24 people in your LS (despite the fact that 24 people could beat JoL). People can't be online 24 hours a day. Do you get it?

You said you need 36+...then you changed it to "well you dont need that many people, its extra for when ppl arent on". 18+6+6 = 30, and that's for an easy kill.

I didn't change what I said at all. You can't read, or something. I was commenting on the number of people you need in your LS because another post said that seashell's numbers are inefficient with regards to our reward to work ratio.

Stop trolling posts. It's clear that I'm talking about the number of LS members when I state that it DOES NOT take 36 people to kill JoL but people will be offline, inevitably, when you pop him.

Well a 1h jailer weapon can give you 4 attacks per round, and Ridill is "occasionally attacks 2-3 times" so it can attack 1-to-3 times per round.

Jailer weapons stack with double attack, but you give up a ranged slot.. which is Tiphia sting or Bomb Core... Ridill hits for 2 more than one.. and alot of the time it hits for 3. We have 4 Ridill WARs in our LS.. and I usually see it hit for 2 to 3.. it is more rare for it to hit once than it is to hit 3 times. Oh and with Ridill you can equip Bomb core or any other ranged slot that also effects dmg lol. Not to mention 99 Virtue stones may be easy to get but most WAR/NIN carry a shitload of Shihei and WS change gear so really multiple 99 Virtue stones is a hassle... Justice sword is guaranteed, but guess what WAR can't equip it so comparing it to Ridill is stupid.. its RDM/PLD. You can't compare any Jailer weapons to Ridill in the hands of a WAR/NIN... Ridill takes a huge steaming dump on ALL of them. Not to mention the only one WAR can equip is the comparably shitty GA.

I think my LS's last Fafnir, Hrotti and Aegish went to people who had just come back from like a 5 month break and their pld's were lv50 or so. My LS hasnt exactly claimed all that many Faf's since that hot streak (I wonder why *hums the tune to "I believe I can fly..."*).

Hardly.. My LS farmed Tiamat for 3+ months just to sell the drops. We didn't keep anything at all, the only reason to kill it was for money. I could care less what other people think of it, people don't think BST and SMN deserve to kill HNMs here, and some LS including one of the top 10 LSes on Big kills attempted to MPK us at Tiamat multiple times. They never succeeded, and it made it even sweeter to sell Gaiters 3 times for 150m+

It's still the equivalent of a gilseller.. lol.

Gilseller tendencies fulfilled:

1. Restrict yourself to specific NMs, due to jobs, numbers, and/or skill, in this case Tiamat.
2. Kill said NMs to sell any and all drops.
3. Do so in a manner than pains any competent LS to watch.
4. Fall victim to MPK attempts, successful or not.


It's not meant to be an insult; if I were only a BST, I'm sure I'd try to get a piece of the Tiamat pie, but the method with which you do that is still equivalent to gilsellers.

At first we killed it for fun. At our second ever Tiamat, The most well known NA HNMLS on our server comes and starts trying to MPK us. At that point, all the BST in our LS have decided that after 75 levels of being pushed out of the way in exp, and having tons of NMs stolen because of a dumb coding glitch, that we aren't moving for anyone. So we started killing Tiamat regularly just to keep it from the LSes that think they deserve everything over anyone else. It's kind of sad that these normal LS take upwards of 2-3 hours to kill it when it took us about an hour and 10-30mins tops.

I've since left the LS, but I still think it was a good idea, and I know I could've got better money somewhere else, our best tiamat run netted 16 people close to 10 mil each. We got gaiters 2 times out of about 10 kills, a few which one of the guys changed to THF at the end and came for TH4. It was a great idea, and I wish I could get everyone back together to not only dominate tiamat, but other HNMs as well.

ED and KoN are the only 2 within reason that I can think of off the top of my head, and some of that is just due to choice (Chiz having 75 DRK as his first job but passing Ebodies off to BLM who happen to have DRK Leveled but dont veen own a hauberk. Could technically not rot anything with the way people get to 75 nowadays.)

Mediocre helm the drops off of Fafnir.. yes we gave that away once too... not that its great but it was just going to rot. But the person we gave that to was not a total jerkoff afterwards.
