Yeah you guys are all right, I don't see why people do sea.
AV's broken.(and by broke I mean fixed.) Fuck sea.

Map if you told people your "secret" to beating AV perhaps people would go out and try sea. However, I think the non-100% triggers would still keep many away.

Right now people see all the work to get to JoL, then AV may or may not pop, but who cares if it does, because it will rape you.

You can say that both Sea and HNM camping is a waste of time, but at least with HNM camping, it's not like after 3 hours the mob won't pop. He'll pop, *someone* will kill, and there's a decent chance something good will drop. With sea, there's a chance that the mob won't even pop. Lame.

EDIT: Add that with HNMs there's also a good chance of entertainment on the side in the form of outside the ally induced Spike Flails. Another reason to go in my book.

And how many player-hours have you invested total? Because with that many player-hours you could have probably RMT'd a fucking Lamborghini. And you run the most successful sea LS.

Don't get me wrong, I love sea. It's just a fucking waste of time.

There is no secret, he was patched since the update. Map's LS used the wall, he draws in now: so no wall. We had members of our LS walking underneath sea because he pulled them inside the rock. Not much you can do when that happens.

Capes are pretty tight, I sort of overlooked those, maybe because we are something like 3/180. Fun! Torques are Peacock Charms, and if you want straight ACC charm is still better, and useable at lowbie levels. Every other piece of gear is just a mild replacement of something that exists already. As for your AV drops, grats and all that and I loved watching (mashing F5) you guys kill it, that was awesome. Too bad in the end you are just lucky you didn't get jailed like everyone else since then and now he has draw-in anyway so you aren't going to do that again. Your indignation about lucking out personally on a broken mob betrays your own defense of sea. Sea's endgame HNM element is a slap in the face to game design and non-masochistic players. Then again we're all masochistic, this is an MMO.

Fafnir is stupid too, but nothing in the game compares to Ridill at all and his bigger brother drops some of the more meaningful pieces of armor in the game. Sea drops...a Speedbelt with +6 atk and 70+ Peacock Charms. Also a trumped-up Moldavite that is just one more earring for BLMs to fret about in their glutted earring slot (Moldavite, Abyssal, Magnetic, Static, Loquacious, Novia/Novia).

I wouldn't trade my Ridill or my king/sky drops for anything, but all my sea gear is ostensibly indistinguishable from stuff I had before already, AND it wasn't fun to do. That's the difference.

I'm still thinking of putting together a fren alliance to pop JFaith, so I can get myself a torque :-/
    <.< I'll come.

I guess what alot of people miss out on about the jailer fights is that alot of them are really pretty fun in how different they are from the norm. Temperance and Fortitude the fights are really different and alot of fun from my eyes (though Faith is really just marathoning), Justice is a cool version of Bomb Queen, Prudence is different though tbh just gay <_<

We farm only twice a week, for no more time than a linkshell would spend in dynamis each run.

On a somewhat related topic that i've been meaning to bring up, has anyone noticed signifigantly increased drop rates in sea? In two runs we've gotten 3 capes, 2 torques and have been 100% on virtues out of like 10 tier 1 jailers. Hope/Justice still didn't drop for us though =(

Did a small Sea run last night, Did Faith, Fort, and Ix'DRG. Faith dropped torque, Fort dropped virtue, and Ix'DRG dropped cape. I dunno if they've been increased, but we were 0/a million on faith torque. So who knows.

I help run a very successful dynamis shell that typically gets 10-15 drops in cities and ~4-6 in ice and we still have issues with drooping attendance over time. You run twice a week for howmanymonths and your people are satisfied with two dozen and some meaningful drops? I want minions like that please.

Because sea items are mostly not trash and people mostly don't have them. AF2 is in general shit.

It's not just that the drop rates suck. Popping stuff sucks also (sup 6 hour ix'drg/ix'rng and ix'mnk that pops on other side of the zone every time).

Since Jailer Weapons are the only things that are 100% drop in sea, you had about 150 jailer fights. Out of those 150 runs, you got 20 torques, making it approximately 13% drop rate.

    Wow. Sea is fan-freakin-tastic!

Yeah, but when you buy a Timeless Hourglass, there isn't a 50% chance that the Trail Markings will take the glass and not let you in.

We did JoL/AV for probably 4-5hours. Not a single soul watched us till we had gathered, killed JoL, pulled AV to the wall, fucked around with him for an hour...and then finally gave up. Only at the very end did people even enter sea to watch us.

Guess we're the only "hardcore" LS on Siren. (see: stupid)

Well I can tell you that we were 0/14 on Virtue drops for Hope until he just recently dropped us both a Torque and a Virtue at once. So there could be something to this.

I'll disagree with you there, we get several needed/wanted drops every time we go, in addition to the useless drops that make people happy anyway. Last Friday (Bastok), rdm rdm smn brd mnk sam were the good pieces. The Friday before (Xarc), rdm rdm rdm blm pld nin.

I wouldn't call 90% of Sea's drops astoundingly more powerful than the above drops. And that was all collected in 2 trips, rather than 8+ months of 2 trips per week...
