Corsair Gets Ranged WS without RNG SJ, DISCUSS.

I xp'd 33-38 in garlaige on the bats and beetles.

I was cor/nin. Dual archers, peacock, noct +1 body/hands/legs, +1 beetle rings. I have 1 merit in marksmanship.

My parsed dmg was the same when I gave up shooting and just melee'd w/ the archer's. (I was doing about half the dmg of war and pup)I was not impressed w/ my ranged hit % and obviously, ranged WS suck complete ass until slug/side. I was doing 150 Red Lotus Blades consistantly as /war @ lvl 28-29 on lizzies in Yuhtunga.

I'm 38 now and have used /war /rng /nin. I'm thinking /rng is going to be necessary to rely on ranged much at all. The bullet selection really hurts. Bow and X-bow were so much stronger pre silver bullets, which Cor never even gets.

I'll probably be sticking w/ /war and /rng for a little while. Really need to get into the 40s-50 to see how Quick Draw and Random Deal work.

I don't see how you are doing so bad. I am subbing Nin for the extra Archers and Blink. Rolling causes alot of hate. Usually just 1 or 2 hits so blink helps alot.

Also, I just got Quick Draw and its awesome! First shot was a Wind Card on some bats for 150+ damage. 3 min cool down though. Looks cool too.

Quick Draw looks great but do you get a choice as to which element of card will be used if you're carrying multiple on you? My set for Corsair doesn't start until Thursday

I'm sure you do. It'll probably list all the elements and if you choose one for a card you don't have it'll probably just give some "Unable to use" message.

Exactly. Quick Draw brings up another sub-menu with all the elements as 'Shots' Dark and Light as well. I'm guessing you can MB with these, haven't had the right combo to try it out. Got to 42 and couldn't stay up any longer, but it seems to be a pretty consistant number as long as the mob is weak to the element you choose. Kinda bumed there aren't any AF quests yet. Would love to have a Cor only weapon for once.

Curious as to what stat might boost the damage like Mnd and Chi Blast. Thinking Int, and maybe Elemental Staves.

If you don't mind me asking, how do you choose which rolls to use and when? Right now I'm just using Corsair's + Hunter's, but I see Chaos just wore off there.

I subbed rng last night and ranged results were much improved for me over ninja.

As far as Quick Draw. Need to start testing differents stats w/ it.

I'm taru, was doing 120 a shot, never missed, had 1 shot do 60 when I had a bust dice on. everyone non taru seems to be doing 140-150+ on quick draw, so may be str related? Pretty sure its not int as that is my highest stat.
I also was unable to get it to MB Ice Shot on distortion.

And I usually go Chaos when we start getting higher in level in a certian zone and Accuracy isn't as much of a problem. I'm really looking forward to Fighter's Roll when I get alittle higher into the 40's.

I hit 42 and went to Whitegate looking to see if I can flag for my AF quest but so far no luck. Just walking around talking to every NPC I can and hoping for the best.

Nope. Don't need the jobs of the Roll name in the party for it to take effect.

On another note, at least in the dunes, COR ranged ACC is horrible. Can't wait until I can upgrade to better equipment.

It's pretty bad if you don't eat racc food, even with the noct gear and double archers. :/ I miss a bunch on IT mobs at level 30's. I hope to god the AF gets release soon and has some insane amounts of racc on it lol.

I would go /war pre lvl 28 using sword. The racc just isn't there before archer's knife, and really noct at 30.

Also, /nin is junk compared to /rng once going the ranged route. I was doing terrible in Garlaige w/ +43 or something racc and a couple marks merits.

I switched to /rng the next PT and my dmg went up and I was hitting for a very high %. Other COR friends of mine came through garl after me w/ /rng and were doing double what I was w/ the same gear setup. Tarus also.

I'm curious if a Summoner in the party would've made the roll better for everyone though. I was sure Square said that it would be like that.
