ff4/II was actually my first FF. I remember being psyched x1000 when Nintendo Power published a single screenshot of FFIII, which at tha point was still like a year in the future.

FF4 was good; I loved the hell out of it, but it doesn't compare to FF6 in any way. I've liked all FF main series, but 6 will always own the rest. 12 looks pretty cool scenery and story-wise possibly, but the character design is total shit save one or two instances. Vaan is looks like something created to attract either 12 year-olds or pedophiles to the game.

I don't see what makes us "fanboys" simply because we enjoy a movie with cool actions scenes and other interesting things that happens to be a sequel of a game we played and greatly enjoyed a long time ago.

Watching it now :D Ordered off Amazon.com yesterday and it arrived today, pretty sweet. Hopefully the english voices don't suck.

Edit: Finished it, aside from Kadaj & Aerith's voices they did a pretty damn good job. Cait sith was scottish though wtf lol. Great movie to own on dvd, buy it

Ok, I concede the point that Advent Children is fun in the smack pow bang-em-up way that Predator or T3 or something is. But I doubt anyone would give a shit about the movie if it wasn't for the FF7 connection.

That's like saying I doubt anyone would give a shit about breathing if it wasn't for the living connection. The movie is FF7, if it was something else it wouldn't have been made in the first place because a company wouldn't be able to budget the money for a project that massive, if it wasn't made specifically for an established fanbase to support a profit.

They put the FF label on Spirits Within. By your logic it should have been a success, but it failed miserably because the movie was terrible, even though it looked amazing.

When are people going to get over FFVII? This movie is JP gay-boy fan service, and nothing more. Saw it when it first came out in Japan with a friend of mine, and we both thought it was ass.
