Hmm, I think it's interesting to consider how any job can be used at HNM, but personally its the last thing I considered when deciding what job to level next.

Usefulness is pretty low on my priorities too.

No doubt, but I was debating where a job being useful was really the last think you consider. I usually ask myself if the job is fun, if it has any purpose, and then how much it'd cost me to level.

3. AFAIK monk for the most part wear only light armor too. The difference is they have the whole eastern sets, but those aren't original pieces. When the game started they were wearing basically the same types of gear pup are wearing. As with the attachments I wouldn't be surprised if SE plans on releasing more pup-type gear (that goes for cor and blu as well) once they get a sense fo how people are playing the class. (I remember there wasn't a whole lot of eva gear for nin, most of it was for mages, but when SE realized that people were going to tank no matter what they started releasing more eva gear for them...even though now nin tend to focus more on str. XD)

4. Just to reitirate on the C+ rating of H2H, again remember when you invite the pup into your party you are not geting a gimp monk with C+rating, you are getting a strong pet with a weaker master, but combining the dmg of the strong puppet with the weaker dmg of the c+ rated master, should still mae decent DD.

Couple of minor nitpicks from a couple pages back, sorry.

Actually all those Eastern sets up to 60 were in the game and they were MNK JSE (NIN and SAM had yet to be released). The cap was 60 at the highest before Zilart, and the various gi sets up through the shinobi set were MNK JSE. Jujitsu Gi, Fuma Kyahan, Ochiudo's Kote, as well, along with the kenpo belts up to brown. Later the other two jobs were added to those pieces when RoZ was released.

And again, there's no such thing as a + or - in weapon skill ratings until level 61. I'm sure you could find a skill level table somewhere that illustrates it; I have several amongst all the strat guides I have (living in Japan where they actually release decent ones, I tend to buy em up).

Yeah, first think I think when I look for a job is if it's gonna be fun for me, I dont even consider "will I be useful at 75" a factor at all, that's what my BLM and RDM are for, but even those, I played them because I wanted to, not because i'd be useful @ 75. If I played soley to be useful, i'd have hopped on the RNG or SMN bandwagon, but instead I chose BST and THF.

Im lvling COR now, i feel the low level tinge of bullets, they're 30k/stack, i cant stay I go through them fast though, 600 delay = /crai. It's getting pricey, but i'll wait till it's 37 before I quit it. I've been having fun in BLU burns, 3-4 BLU 1 healer 1 COR = invincible win pt.

True, but when you spend 95% of your time doing assaults, limbus, dynamis, HNMs, BCs and meritting and the job is never useable for any of them, the fact that it has no purpose may override how fun it can be taking it from 1 to 75. Ala Dragoons.

I didnt level my BST to do HNM with, I levelled it because it was fun. Your logic is flawed.

When you lvl a job just to be useful to HNM LS then usually you end up regretting it unless you enjoy the job as well. I regret lvling RDM to 75, but I used to enjoy the job... But at the same time I'm kinda glad I did cause my MNK isn't useful at wyrms and shit that BG doesn't melee.

I kind of agree but sometimes you need to put the LS first so you'll have to get on that RDM

For me though, I'm happy I have the privilege to go as whatever job I want. That's why my whm is Lv74 @ like 20,000 -> 75 lol

I'd invite a puppetmaster , depending on the puppet's dmg output. If they can put nice numbers and the master is smart with his attachment usages , sure, if they blowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, lol im not inviting a DRG, i'd rather get a thief, one of the most overlooked jobs damage wise.

That's what I dont understand, even at 57 all my SC outdamage all WAR's rampages, all DRG penta, all sam Tachi:whatever, yet we're still looked at "crap". My favourite party setup : 2x thf 2x nin 1 brd 1 healer. Everyone does damage, nobody gets hurt.
