Dezz posted the link to this in our irc channel (#BGFORUMS on zirc) and I lol'd so hard. I like the part where he says equipping elemental staves increases HQ rates the best.

wow... it's like, he spews out ignorance
Anyone on Siren who can just mpk the fuck out of this ignorant idiot? Really mpk him to lvl 1, then his posts would make more sense, anyone past lvl 60 should know what he is saying is pure shit, though entertaining to read. Everything from him is like..hell the Brady guides are better actually, so...just wow made my day here at work at least![]()
It isn't ALL total crap, some of it may come in handy for the new players, but there really is a lot of misinformation that would seriously mislead some of the newer players there.
I hope he'd be up to the experienced community critiquing his article, because there's some really bad advice in it.
Isn't there some other guy who wrote for 1up playing FFXI? Like a taru BLM, I saw an article documenting his Sea solo chaining. Name escapes me. I thought he would be the author.
I'm assuming this is more like a promotional article rather than an actual guide, write off the bad things and focus on (or twist) the other stuff which seems good (WAR keeping up with DRK olol).

This guide is clearly meant for brand new players. These kind of players don't need to know all the intricate details of life at level 75, or hell, even life at level 50+. Sure, some of the information is a bit inaccurate or misleading, but it does give a new player a decent 'at a glance' overview, at least. I don't think it's so atrociously bad that we need to start trying to hack the site or anything... At least he's not telling people that having a Beastmaster with a pet in your party will reduce the amount of xp you recieve.
Then again, he does rail on Elvaan pretty hard in the races section, so I guess I'm automatically biased in favor of the article as a result.
Actually, that's me who brought up the solo chaining... no I don't work for 1up, though my blog is there. And yes I'm in Milky's LS...Originally Posted by Selk
edit: Here's the blog post in question: http://kimiko-ffxi.1up.com/do/blogEntry ... Id=5725614 , I'm currently working on breaking chain #3 in that set, still need to up blizzard potency and get a few of the new TAU gears.
Make sure you tell him/her he/she is an idiot and should learn some more end game, hell i knew better when i was level 60.Originally Posted by Kimiko
Well, you have to remember... Milky's kinda dead set against endgame stuff (mainly cause of the drama and shit that it entails)
edit: also, his endgame experience is limited to a few dynamis runs and farming in sky (no gods of yet)
That may be true, but is he dead set against using a brain or having common sense? I think he is.Originally Posted by Kimiko
What does that have to do with the accuracy of his article? So much of what he wrote was just untrue, not just "endgame" stuff, even just basic things. In fact, quite a bit of it was the exact opposite of true.Originally Posted by Kimiko
Then why is he talking about endgame stuff?Originally Posted by Kimiko
And you don't have to be in endgame to know alot of what he wrote was wrong or stupid.
I can't even see the article cause I'm at work and it's blocked, but from what everyone is quoting..![]()
Why does 1UP and Milkman suck so much.

That's what I find most amusing about milkman. He wrote an article about raineer for any elite comments he's made and yet he goes around acting like he's knows it all. And the best part is that he doesn't know anything but will bitch you out for YOUR elitism.Originally Posted by Erebus
I personally don't tend to take people who've played RDM/BRD very seriously to begin with. At least there is some decent info in his guide. It's just his mistakes are retardedly laughable.Originally Posted by Angelsin
