    He's actually making semi-serious points, but the problem is that everyone's stuck in the honeymoon phase of the expansion. 2 days in the enamored effect wore off on me (more like 2 minutes in but I digress) but I will say that it is a step in the right direction. The biggest flaw with this game is that it requires too much interaction with people you just don't want to play with, it's something they tried to fix but since theyre JP they have to do everything in moderation and we only get 30 minutes to ourselves a day then the rest of it is shit that most of us already completed by the second day.

    ...that is what I enjoy about FFXI most. Its one thing I loved about CoP missions. Its what I feel is great about assault. I meet new people and make new friends. They set the game up in such a way that communities and friendships grow and strengthen. Its a beautiful thing. Its probably the biggest thing WoW lacks for me.

    I dont mind playing with other people, playing with another 130 people in a cramped tiny shit and fly-filled hole for 3 hours listening to everyone whine about how everyone else sucks, however, is a different bag, possibly one full of dicks.

    My point before Penguin went on his derailing spree was that the game can't even HANDLE interacting with lots of people. 150 people in Aery and you won't even have Fafnir appear on your screen or be targetable unless you're standing right beside it. The game CAN NOT handle 100+ people fighting in the same small area at the entrance of Al Zhabi, it just doesn't work. It can only barely handle 64 people in dynamis and half of them won't even show up on your screen. As SE has it set up now, Besieged simply cannot work as there will always be too many people in the same area. The servers and networks and hell maybe even the PS2 weren't set up to handle the load.

    I don't know a single real-time game that does large-scale melee over the internet well. Even games specifically designed around that aspect start to stutter once you get more than a few dozen people in the FOV.

    When you figure out how to do it over existing internet architecture, give us a call. Hell, don't give us a call; go patent it and make a fortune instead.

    They should raise the bandwidth used by FFXI. At the moment is uses something like 0.4kb so that 56k people could play it when it first comes out... who uses 56k now? lol. The lag is mostly because there is too much data for the server to send to the client. Up the bandwidth so FF can send more data, less lag. Come on, who would miss that extra 10kb?

    I believe one of the reasons that they have the warning vs. surprise attacks is that the CS when they come in will interupt synthesis and you will loose your mats.

    I think that it is just something new so ppl will be there for all of the attacks for the first few weeks. Once people stop dropping what they are doing and running for Al Zhabi I imagine it will be much more fun. Or they just need to create the new version of the Dynamis Lord and have him come in and own 300+ people.

    Perhaps these weak forces are by design?

    The beastmen are sending expendable scrubs to check out the situation. This accomplishes two things:

    1) They are able to size up our tactics/defenses without the loss of skilled troops.
    2) We become complacent as we feel the beastmen are quite weak in comparison to ourselves.

    After a few of these, perhaps the "real" army will come. Everyone in zone will be griping and bitching and moaning about another weak ass beastman assault...until reports from the woodlands roll in that they are raping everything in their path. They zone into town as lvl 99 mobs....and proceed to kill everything that moves.

    This is bound to happen. Why? Because SE is to sadistic to allow us to have any sort of bonus from the Astral Constipation for any extended period of time. Fact: XP and other bonuses from it increase with successive defences of the Astral Constipation. The more we have won in a row..the bigger the bonus. Fact: SE will not, and cannot, allow the players to enjoy such a bonus for an extended period of time. Examples: Any weapon based on day of the weak.....wow this dagger is bad ass...but only 1 hr out of every 8. For the other 7, it sucks a fat one. Ninja AF boots rule....but only for 30 mins at a time. Fenrir buffs kick ass....but only for a few hours every 2 days!!!! Do you see the trend?

    Given their design style...... SE will never allow us to perpetually have the Astral Constipation in our possesion. I bet the beastmen forces will grow stronger with each assault...to the point where they will be unbeatable.

    Just my opinion on the matter. From a logistics stand point....it is better to send the pussies in first to see what you are up against. Only send in the elites when you know what/who you are dealing with.

    Would remind me of that Old WoW video where people dragged I think Ragnaross or something into Stormwind and proceeded to watch it decimate the entire city.

    That sounds right, I know it's instanced but I never made it past level 30 in WoW so I'm 90% clueless <_<

    Wasn't that a bug with a boss having a virus attack? And like it kills you really fast if you get hit and spreads or something. But if you had it on a pet and desummoned it, it wouldn't lose the virus. So you'd go back into town and summon the virused pet on npcs. They have super regen where they can't die so they become carriers for it, and spread it to everyone that gets near it. Mass death/hilarity ensued.

    As I said, AIDS > dragging a raid boss into a city.
