I've got a few question about training the crawlers.
    1) can you feed the east-2 people @ point 1 before starting to train?
    2) at point #3, it looks like you have to run back against your train after nabbing the crawler in J-8, correct? At this point you only have 2 crawlers chasing?
    3) At point 5, once you aggro the 2 crawlers you can turn around, yes? Or do you have to go all the way to point 6?
    4) What con are the crawlers? IE, how often do they hit a high-evasion character?

    Finally, a more general question.
Currently, we only know that you have to feed an npc until he doesn't give you the "boots" line, correct?
same questions as above with addition of.

    1. if u die early @ point 1 after training everything and there are some slower crawlers left behind randomly else where. how to tractor and raise? have to make sure all the crawlers are in point 1 before choose to die?

    2. will the crawlers move back to the original location after the puller died?

    3. those shields mean anything?

"Um, why did the Qiqirin change color...whack whack, oh shit, let's get out of here."
my team just beat this as nin/war, nin/war, rdm/blm, rdm/whm, mnk/nin and brd/whm. it is basically easy unless you don't find an ore within 30 minutes or you get killed.

    1. try to have each job be able to solo the worm if you plan to continue mining at the same spot-only the brd had problems with this one. ^^ it would also be useful to use a job or subjob that would help you survive qiqirin aggro if you find the ore.

    2. once a person gets the ore, the qiqirin can aggro anyone in the party if you come close them. it is possible to avoid them. however, we found out that using sneak & invisible worked 100% well-even for the person carrying the ore!

    3. after trading the ore to the npc, the treasure and runic pop just a few steps in front of the NPC.

I've yet to really hit assault but have you tried Deode to shift the Crawlers? Absolutely no idea if this will work but we all know what happens with Processionaire's in Boyahda.

Interesting...but if they are true sound, I'd be willing to bet they are true scent as well.

Tried it with invis/sneak/deo, they happily aggroed us anyway.

That assault SUCKS. When we beat it, it took more planning and coordination than D-Day, and bigger trains than Amtrak.

I think what russta means is sleepga->deoderizer->run away.

If that works it'll cause a shock to the supply of deodorizer sales which, until now, have only been purchased for comedic value.

If they move so slow is there really any need to even die? One person with +movement speed (preferably THF with Striders) could train the whole zone and still feed people without dying or logging out. just drag them all to a corner, then run back and get some food then take the food somewhere else. The crawlers shouldn't aggro anyone else on the way because they will always be aggroed on the trainer, who at no poitn after gathering the train in the first place is anywhere close to the crawlers since they move so slow and he moves so fast.

Coupled with a point system of knowing exactly how many points each type of food is worth, seems like you could finish with 5+ minutes to spare each time.

Ah, I see. We didn't try that.

If it works, that'd help a bit. I don't think I'm gonna go back to test it though >_>

Tried to sleep then deodorize and they still came after us so this does not work.

We won this one with BLM, BLM, RDM, RDM, MNK/THF, THF on the 4th try. Ended up just sleeping anything we happened to aggro and using Hermes Quenchers/Flee. The MNK had gaiters and one of the RDM had crimson as well. We noticed the sleep resistance that has already been mentioned in a couple of our failed runs but one thing I did on one failed run and the successful run was instead of sleeping everything, I would gravity them sometimes instead. It really seemed to cut down the sleep resistance and really, gravity is just as effective as sleep. So maybe try mixing in grav with sleep to avoid resists.

We won with about 10 seconds left and I think it's safe to say we will not be doing this assault ever again. Now to find that elusive Warhorse Footprint.

Just fall in the lava, that is sure to get rid of the scent.

Has anyone done that stupid mission *without* using a rediculous amount of speed items? You guys are pimp and all but not everyone is like that... I can't see SE making it so you absolutely have to have speed items to complete the mission. Or maybe I can, considering some of the other dumb shit they've pulled in the past.

NIN/PLD during nighttime OWNs that mission. Did it with NINx3, BRD, BLM (only 5 people) and won with 10mins left.

Have 2NINs take the SE area, BRD and BLM take the SW (only one sleepable Crawler to deal with) and one NIN take the 2 directly N. When everyone is done their areas, hit the NW area in combination. Make sure you keep vocal with eachother, incase someone has a Jerky or Steak to finish off a 5 or 6 soldier. I was on NIN/PLD and had 2 Crawlers on me from second one, and about 4 halfway through, just gotta get your distance from them and use the lava pits to your advantage when gaining ground on them/curing/recasting Utsusemi.

We just won with THF, DRK/THF, BLM, RDM, BRD, WHM... think we all had powdered boots but the WHM and BLM. Won with 1 minute left haha. Just buy some powdered boots.. maybe a couple for each person for recast. I just used on pair and 3 charges total.

    Beat thsi last night as MNK/THF? RDM/THF NIN/THF NIN/THF NIN/THF THF/NIN
with an insane amount of speed items.. 5+ boots average a person.

With two fuckups (I aggroed something and didn't train properly and another person who aggroed a bunch of stuff and died on the food NPC) we still beat it with five minutes remaning.... seemed easy... didn't get pea soup once.

Anyone try just walking past the crawlers? The missions have had unique monster behavior thus far it wouldnt surprise me if that was the case.

True sound aggro. Can have sneak up and walk behind one and it will aggro. You can walk past them as their aggro radius does not seem huge. Have to gauge whether it is worthwhile or a waste of valuable time to go around them. Most are positioned in a way that makes them unavoidable... and others move into a position where you can't walk past them. I walked past the ones at the N and E stations a number of times until I couldn't due to it moving into the middle of the path.

Ya i realized they are true sound aggro as it has been stated, just wondering if you could actualy walk "/" past them. On another note Osiris seems to have found an even better way to win! Theres this 3rd party program called MrArgus, lets you warp around the area. They told me to just warp to the npc and i could win in like 10mins.
