Either that, or the spell will suck horribly until SE adds in some +BLU magic skill or something related.

+Magic Accuracy gear. It can use Homam head and Nashira stuff and this would be nice if a BLU could get its hands on it.

Physical blue magic's accuracy is based on the accuracy of the blue mage's main weapon, and as I recall from earlier discussion, the effects of +Magic Accuracy are meager at best. Considering the fact that Accuracy is available in much larger quantities than Magic Accuracy (and that we don't even know if Magic Accuracy affects physical blue magic spells), I would think that going for an Accuracy build would be much more worthwhile.

Edit: (@ Tahngarthor) Toramas are Beasts and 1k needles is a Plantoid type spell, so Toramas should in fact be weak to this spell since Plantoids > Beasts.

I think weakness / strength only counts if the spell actually connects, not resist rate. [Haven't tested or parsed, just what I've noticed playing so far]

If that's true though, then the Beast Chart wouldn't count into anything because 1k needles is a fixed number. Of course, that's both it's boon and it's weakness as a spell: The fact that it would be perfectly reliable if it connects.

blah blah blah u guys sure do attack alot, we ended pt right after this and my sushi had wore off, my COR buddy was usin Pcharm to help his slugs. plus i wear SH for acc just swapped cloak in after the spell cast because it took 90% of my mana pool for this spell. blue magic was capped at 61 and it will be capped in like 3k xp its seriously not that hard. (sure i could have waited for perfect testing conditions but our party was ending for the night and i was too excited to wait sue me!!!!!!)

as for the people flaming me for my level? are you just used to parties who wipe every hour or 2 and stuggle for 2k/hr in between those wipes? xp in ffxi is NOT THAT HARRRRRRRRRRRD i dont konw why you make it out to be. only reason it takes time for most people is because they lack enough motivation to make their own pts and would rather get stuck in whatever crap ass setup they get invited to first then make a good pt o_O

TAKING LONGER TO ACCOMPLISH A GOAL DOES NOT EQUAL MORE ENJOYMENT

Our group is 4/6 from my LS, and bard weve been xping with everyday since lvl 35. Only thing we pick up is a tank so at most it takes 1hr to setup pt eachday. Frankly the hugest factor in our xp/hr is how many RMT are trying to level smn in our zone. I know its easy to see lvl 62 in 12 days and be shocked, but if you sit down and look at it that way its not even that much playtime per day compared to alot of people who spend that long running laps in jeuno/tav or camping 2 or 3 kings when you could have gained 2 or 3 lvls.

For the peopel offering helpful suggestions, im willing to bet its just gimp atm without any real gear designed for blu. i tested radiant breath about 25 times with light staff,25 with jupiter and still got resisted on 70% of them down to 30-40dmg (tried with light threnody as well but not on every try.) 300 dmg was pretty rare regardless of my gear setup.

Ya we are motivated to stay highest lvl on our server so we are gonna put in extra time but to be honest thats the main reason im having so much fun with this job. Not having to put up with 50 of your job lfg, noobs telling you to conform to the pigeonhole the forums decided was best that week, basically going through everything on your own without much of a guide at all is 10x more fun then xping a old job to me. damn u guys got me rambling at 5am lol im going back to sleep

Test it on something that's not the most evasive exp mob next time Crabs/Skele/flies etc. Toramas are known to make all melee cry, you have 2x 75 melee jobs right?

If what i read from posts are correctly, physical spells are just like physical TP moves, so mob evasion vs your acc counts.

i just got out of a blux4 + brd + cor party, and we were rotating head butt at a certain point and the goblin could barely move the whole fight... only reason we didn't do that all along was cuz we wanted to experiment other things, although i could easily see that as the new way to take down HNMs :D
