SP Assault Missions (Yes, another assault thread)

run up, aggro all chigoes so one is targetable, sleepga, check for NPC, catch aggro if it's an experimental undead and die outside of the room, talk to the NPC if it isn't, clear once you find ryaaf, yeah <_<

hmm....that might not work, I forgot that you have to aggro them before sleeping since they aren't targetable from far away. Stoneskin would likely wear before sleep goes off unless everyone is a rdm

Rather than 5 people running to different rooms and each checking the NPC, can't one group go to each room together, kill each set of chigoes and fomor, and find the NPC together, and still have plenty of time to win?

yeah that's what I was getting at before, no way to sleep before they start smacking you hundred fists style. Could go as warrior, pop 2 hour and fight them all since crits cause them to die.

Yeah, that's exactly what we did, and we weren't exactly short on time either when we did win.

Guaranteed crits from SA don't kill them. Does Mighty Strikes?

WS makes them die instantly tho. Opo to 100 and circle blade / spinning atack / etc?

Never checked to see if mighty strikes is exempt, I probably should find out.

There are some chigoes that die to crits but not to WS, and some that die to WS but not to crit. Perhaps the ones in this Assault are the die-to-WS kind, and neither normal crits, MS, or SA will one-shot them.

Well normal crits dropped them immediately, as well as the use of our WSes but they were all crit based WSes (rampage, vorpal, jin) so I couldnt tell if it was the ws itself or the crit inside it that made it happen. They have a lot of HP though, a ton.

I checked halvung Mount Zwhatever and thickets and didnt find the hoof print. I heard from somebody that it only pops from 18-6:00. Anybody else hear this?

I know that's not true, because apparently the day before I went to check my LS had spotted it while doing an imp party in the mire, and that it had been up the entire time.

We did Mamool and Periqia today.

For Mamool we just sleepgaed the links and focused only on the NM, worked just fine. It was the most fun assault I've done up to date, carnival music would have been appropriate for it.

For Periqia, a few things:

1. there are undead fomors that block some paths to the 5 rooms, but (from what I remember), there are clear paths to each room so wide scan helps, the map is pretty big and the fomors take a long time to kill.

2. WS drop them regardless of whether or not they are critical or not. I used spinning attack (monk ws) and killed all 3 chigoes instantly.

3. The most important thing that was not mentioned: even if you find Ryaaf, you need to rescue all 3 of the npcs to win. There are 5 rooms and two of them have fomors. We got Ryaaf second and still didn't win until we rescued the third one.

Just did the Halvung Trolls... went in with a PLD,BLM,BLM,DRK and won. lol

imo it is the most easy of the PSC assaults.

Still no word from Naja? I was thining maybe you just had to wait until the sunday conquest update. Try going into that Chamber of Binding or something by the Walahra Turban guy in Al Zahbi? Last thing to try would be going into the Imperial district of Whitegate (entrance is just east of the Assault mission counters and chamber of passage to runic portal).

Been everywhere, nothing. There's nothing in the game to hint that we can move on atm so we're sort of up a creek without a paddle. Start your farming.

Just did Ryeef and our PLD and 2 BLMs died in the first room and didnt have RR :/ (Mistakes >.<)

The RNG and I (on DRK/THF) duoed the rest, suiciding 4 rooms and finally getting it with 10 minutes left. Easy.
