Yeah they get maybe 5~7 hits more than me per mob but guess what. They hit 30~50 maybe 90~100 tops with crits, I hit for over 50~80 per hand and 120 crits (Deco Weapons). Given the same amount of haste and and gear setups Fudo/Senji will come out on top. Keep in mind you are losing 9% Crit rate and over 8 Base Damage per hand. One or two double attacks per fight will not make up for that.
y hello thar numbers out of your ass.

Reminds me of one ninja that said his Blade:jins AVERAGED 700-1300. How does an average have a range of 600 damage? lol
Defiently not numbers out of my ass but thats fine if you believe that. This is also with different gear setups, given same DD or Haste/DW and merits setup Fudo/Senji will still parser higher.
I'd say parse it but we all know how much a parse proves. Too many variables to rely on a parse proving one setup being better than another.

The only way to do it would be to figure out true damage per second after taking in to account weaponskills etc...

Whatever floats your boat man, the difference is very little between the two with the same setups. Fudo/Senji are also a hell of alot easier to get than Unji/Unsho. I still don't see the logic in scarficing that much damage and crit hate for the hope of alot of DA procing to make up for it. I know its about DoT but damn thats alot to give.

Exactly the post I was looking for, it boils down to preference. Do you like to do your damage by hitting fast for mediocre damage, or hitting hard for a little bit more?

There is such a minute difference between the two in damage per second that there are way too many debates about it. I'm not arguing for one setup or against another, just that someone saying a particularly decent setup is "gimped" is pretty silly.

I'm going for a middle of the road setup, full haste with a heavy mainhand katana and a quick one offhand. It'll keep my weaponskill numbers large (for a taru) while hitting quite quickly. Senj main, Unji off. Walahra turban, peacock charm, dusk gloves, haub, byakko's haidate, fuma sune-ate, swift belt, brutal earring, minuet/diabolos earring.

Edit: Maxx you only have one job at 75, and it isn't ninja.

Also, U/U nin is going to give the mob a bit more tp while doing 'about the same' damage.

Yeah...I don't care if there are kraken clubs in my TP party, this is NOT an issue. Don't forget that each katana actually has subtle blow +1 on it too...

They may do more damage, but in a non exp party scenario, that extra buttload of tp they feed the mob sucks. MNK BRD WHM trio'ing Golden Salvage, chests at most would use death trap twice before dying. MNK WAR (with ridil and mainhand maneater) WHM BRD, chests would end up using it 5-6 times. the extra time stunned alone made it faster to have just trio'ed it.

The only mobs where the TP fed to a mob from a ridill WAR actually makes a difference are the same mobs a NIN can't do damage worth a shit on anyway.

The ONLY 2 exceptions I can think of are cassie and vivan.

they don't always do more damage in exp either. depends on the war, depends on the other person.

blanket statements like "X job does more damage" are really silly

go trio Apollyon SE with a ridill war, see how many times the slimes do the special move. then go solo it and see it again.

Yeah because it's not the WAR's lack of evasion, less shadows, and enfeebles that make it not a worthwhile endeavor too, it's that darn fluid toss (unless you meant to solo it as NIN as opposed to trioing, which really doesnt mean much since trioing does nothing but dick you out of the coins you were going for solo in the first place).

I should have specified in any situation where you're trying to compare damage to TP given, etc etc etc. Golden salvage can be remedied with a poisona, big deal.

    Ok...

Ridill war's have the highest potential damage in an exp setting.

    Any better?

im talking about how much tp the wars feed to a mob, im not talking about spliting the coins.

the poison effect of Golden salvage is nothing, the stun is annoying, ya, big deal.

Sort of a no brainer there, although you could make an argument of "does the mob die fast enough to make up for the extra TP fed to it", because it's not the ridill that's the problem in that scenario either.
