The main page is not updated often because it is amazingly hard to do it. There is no integrated system to automatically post updates directly into the database, so updates have to be made directly into the php script of the page itself. Thusly you also have to create the archive pages, or you get a mess like what the front page is now.

Sadly, I do not have access to the ftp to actually go through and directly make the updates; this is why updates are few and far between.
