It simpy comes down to:
Buying Attack/STR+ gear and eatting expensive ass sushi
or buying an expensive ass Accu+ gear and eatting meat
amirite?
unless you're a mage.Originally Posted by Nny
It makes a difference for mages too, its just easier to get lazy and not care since its definitely on a smaller scale.
Not even for mages. If they gave us +macc and +mab food maybe, but there isn't any.
a melee not using food: it's noticed, mocked, and lucky if they're not kicked.Originally Posted by Nagamaki

We need Magic Attack Bonus (meat), or Ele skill/Magic Accuracy (sushi). I would buy those food.
I meant mages in general, and even for BLM Jelly is pretty nice, the INT isn't going to make you hit 50 times harder but its linear damage improvement and a bunch of MP.
For support mages, well lets just compare 1 fairly cheap mage food with 1 not quite cheap piece of armor :
Effects for Mushroom Stew:
MP +40
Strength -1
Mind +4
MP Regeneration While Healing +4
Enmity -4
Effects for Errant Cape:
MP +30
Enmity -5
Sure you can live without, but having a 3hour burger status that acts like an Errant Cape in your stomach and gives you hMP and MND qualifies as making a difference as far as I'm concerned.
I used to use cookies, they got annoying after a while when I had to use one every 3 mins.
I started using Choco Delights, but those got annoying to find for a good price, all the ingredients are dirt cheap yet the HQ was going for a rediculous price.
So now I use nothing at all! And nobody cares, RDM dont rest.
On BLM I use "Imperial Coffee" , +3hmp , if i can get +1 i'll use it for all my good burn parties, but usually on blm I rest MP fast enough as it is.
Well i only mentioned it because the numbers seemed incredibly low. I am not saying you made them up, I am just saying it looks really odd.Originally Posted by NynJa
If you don't want to say why your absolute max dmg hits and ws in that session are so low, that's fine, but I imagine other mnks who xp'd there would agree with me something looks wrong with those low parse results.

on a VT imp, yet your max ws was 600 dmg is odd if you were the same exact job/sub as me. I wasn't doing anything special like wearing faith claws or anything (those wouldn't increase asuran dmg anyways), and I was using mostly evasive/tanking gear.
I was in my 60s when CoP came out, and even then if someone pulled a Blagger in Bibiki it either dropped the bomb or you died, since no one could touch them. Even now, the THF Qiqirn in the PSC Lebros Assault take noticably longer to kill than the RNG.Originally Posted by ps2user

If the -tough- THF mobs in Leberos do the sandspray blind move, they check high evasion to me even with sushi/normal XP accuracy gear.Originally Posted by Priran
you say thats duoing with a rdm/nin ?? How am I supposed to know ?? How am I supposed to know thats not taken with a bard in the party doing double minuet and dia2 on it ??Originally Posted by genome
I wasnt getting any dia on my mobs. My monk is hardly merited (2 h2h, 0 str, full kick and counter though), I also had some pretty (no ranged weapon, one earring (brutal), NQ amemet backpiece, AF2 boots for WS). My monk isnt pimp, I never claimed it is, I never said it is.
For merited jobs I think it's more using acc gear and eating meat, or using haste gear and eating sushi. Most of the time melee jobs only benefit from having around 90-100 STR, beyond that it only affects WS and the secondary benefit to attack.Originally Posted by Hirronimus
I am not trying to put you down, I am just saying those numbers are not representative of monk damage on those mobs, they are way too low, and I was asking if maybe you weren't wearing weapons or wearing unusual ones (boreal cesti, narashima cesti) or something for some reason (mess around, testing etc).Originally Posted by NynJa
This is the original picture I had cut the asuran from, as I said just me duoing with RDM. I am not saying that you need to break 1k+ every single time, just that it is really odd that you never, not even once during that xp PT went over 600. That just seems odd so I asked.

You should be able to get over 600 on a ws using lv 1 gear and an up to date weapon.
You know, to be honest...I might have forgotten to equip destroyers. I'm sure I had them on, but theres a small chance I just hit my WS gear macro then my TP gear macro to throw gear on after changing jobs and completely neglected weapons.
I did that in the PSC escort:
cleared 2 sets of crabs "Oh shit, forgot to equip destroyers lol".
