-_- wow... did you even read what i wrote? i was wearing dune boots... i been wearing it ever since 70 and as lvl75 till like few weeks ago... you don't outparse shit? i didnt say i was outparsed... was just stating... this sunate mnk did 150punches more and 10+ more ws in a 1~2hr pt in krt... my kicks were about 150~170.... lets say his punches were avging 80... 150x8= 1200 dmg more.. ws avg 700.. 10x7 = 700 total 1900... therefore my kick would have to deal 1900 more than his kick... anyways... im just stating what i experienced... do/believe whatever anyone feels right... ya get the kabuto .. its one of the best headgear you can get.. take your time on the turban

For arguments sake, let's say your delay is 350 with weapons and current haste deductions already made. Throw in 3% haste. What's 350 x .97? 339.5. So you dropped your total delay by 1/10th of a second. You'd have to do a shit load of punch rounds to see any benefit from 3% haste, whereas merited kicks are what, 10% activation? I don't know. I'd rather have 100% damage increase from my kicks that occur multiple times per fight instead of absolutely nothing that the sune-ate give in return.

Monks who argue against the utility of dune boots are pure crap.

Any monk with capped kick attacks should be using dune boots. Even without capped kicks, it's probably still in dune boots' favor.

I have both sune-ate and dune boots, and I'll take my dunes any day of the week.

Get the kabuto. The Dlog price on our server can change drastically soon since our sellers finally figured out they can kill Ulli and Despot. The price of turban wont change. It'll stay 20 gold pieces forever and always, you just have to xp for it and what monk doesnt love merits?

The price of the turban will change. Coins aren't going to be worth as much later on. If it doesn't change, I think I am going to go insane. I want to do other things, but the lure of selling stacks of bronze coins is just too great. 30 mil so far.

Buy the Shura, you won't regret it, not only is it a great WS piece, it's a great TP piece as well, the highlight of getting the Turban is the 200k EXP (or 20 merits) you get while trying to obtain it which vastly improves your character.

As for Dune Boots vs Fuma, use whatever you want, I don't have Dune because well, I'm too lazy to camp for them and I like my Fuma, not only that, but I understand too well about wanting to look good while kicking ass...however if that's the case the only solution is to .dat change.

And you don't have to camp the NM, it's pretty much always up. Just grab a few friends and go, I'd be really surprised if it wasn't there. If it's not, kill the few sabotenders in the area and it'll almost certainly pop.

But mostly it's just that I've camped the Dune Boots NM before, I've gone 5 or 6 times and he's never been up, I've killed Sabotenders for like 40 minutes and got tired. Unless Dune Boots make me Crit Kick for 20,000 damage I'm not gonna bother for a while.

I'm a "new" monk, and I want the dune boots. 5 mins of searching on KI revealed that the NM is a 21-24 hour pop, you can go ahead and kill sabotenders for hours on end...won't do you much good. It's not exactly hard, you go monk/rng (lvl 1 rng ftw), zone into the area and widescan will show if the NM is up (entrance is in G-5 in Western Altepa Desert by the way, you probably didn't know that. You can get there by having a whm friend use a spell called "Teleport Altep", run through the Korroloka tunnel which starts from a city called "Bastok" [ use an airship to get here from Jeuno ], or you can Outpost warp). Just go check if its up, if not...come back a few hours later or next day.

There, I think I outlined all the information for you since you're too lazy to search yourself.

Balrina is kinda weird in the sence that, despite being 21-24 hours, he has a palceholder, but if you kill one round and he dosent pop he's probly not going to. But like someone said earlier he's almost always up or ready to be popped.

I declare Shura Zunari Kabuto dead for monks. It used to be pretty good for TPing when you could afford to drop 5 acc.

Now, with the turban, I can't think of a single instance where I'd use it.

I'd use the Turban over Kabuto for TPing.
I'd use Op Hat for Asuran Fists since the stat mods on AF blow chunks.
I'd use Op Hat or Genbu Kabuto for DK, because 50% of 15 = 7.5, whereas 50% of 5 plus 1.5 for the extra fStr is 4.

When would I ever use Shr.Znr.Kabuto?

I just mean that since he cant afford to buy the coins and the log, to buy the log first which has an ever-changing price because you can always xp in the new areas for the 20,000 IS and buy the turban that way. But yeah, as for the coin price on AH, you're right it will change.

Well I don't have Byakko's Haidate... and when tanking or soloing things I'm always like 4seconds away from Utsu recast, so the +5% haste would help a ton I think.

So if you were wearing a OHat before and the +10 eva on it, u take off 10 eva for 5% Haste, You'll still probably be waiting 5 secs for Utsu recast, unless u somehow toss evasion onto your pants to make up for that shit...
