Re: Amazing Items Crafted ... Blown apart!!

I know ive seen some pretty bad numbers on the forums but i never assumed id get them. Over the past 3 days, im 0/59 on Tier 1 synths, and ive been alternating synths. all NQ cermet kukris, mashumitos, cursed legs and hands. usually do about 15 synths in a sitting. Not really that not worthy as far as a loss, but how often does this happen to you guys lol im pretty new to 100 crafting

edit to add 61 broke the streak, never been so happy about 60k profit before... lol

I had my first Noble break (and first big break) recently. Sat down to synth... instant break said Synthesis Interrupted. Says lost all mats, but in reality only lost the Cloth and two gold thread.

So much for Moglification. And now everyone in the LS ribs me for it, or tells me it was lag, or some voodoo. I just put it up to that it happens and doesn't actually effect the result- the result being failure this time

Saw a relatively cheap cloth (3.1 mil, manteels sell for ~3.5 right now) in rolan, figured I'd at least make a decent profit on NQ. Yea, not so much...

Blew up a Behemoth Hide for a friend today. However, thanks to my Moglification sign I managed to save......nothing.

Re: Amazing Items Crafted ... Blown apart!!

Best way to somewhat eliminate stress during a huge synth for me:

Back when it was a big deal to attempt things like nobles tunics for example (when cloths were 10M+) what I would do is:

    1. Buy the mats
    2. Put on the the apron specs etc
    3. Set up for the synth
    4. Turn down volume, then hit enter for the synth, right when I hit my knee to start I would quickly just walk away from the T.V. or PC, depending on what system I was on.
    5. Go smoke a cig (for nonsmokers go beat off, take a shit, or something relaxing haha)
    6. Quietly come back to the screen, making sure as to look down at my controls and cancel ALL chatlog, (just repeatedly hitting back on the chatlog erase button to where nothing was up when I finally looked up)
    7. I would bring up my equip box and to the best of my ability get to my body slot and prepare for a letdown a sigh of relief or a major celebration if I saw the whitebox for the available armor (Aristos in this case of course).

Obviously if theres no NQ or HQ in your items list, then yea, you're fucked =(

Was just a fun way to do big synths and helped relieve the stress, I always had really good luck on cloaks this way and HQed about 4 out of 30 on Aristos too, I believe only once did I come back to "nothing" Everyone has their way of doing things and I know this has nothing to do with my HQ rates but you guys should try it sometime, it's a bit more interesting and less nervewracking then watching the shit blow up in your face =)

Also I'd give my left nut to have the whole subligar desynth profit phase back. Now THAT was a "2" cig relaxation period before i would come back and check my items before looking at the chatlog hahaha. God those were the days when most all the higher weavers carried over 80M gil or were flat broke on just that desynth alone. I was one of the luckier ones thankfully. Then again, shit changes, a good crafter adapts. Of all my luck I am still 0 for 48 or so on cursed mitts or pants. The worst was busting out 30 NQ mitts in a row (not one break to add insult to injury) for a friend on a contract... poor bastard lost basically 30 Mil in 15 minutes a year or so ago...

Since that day I have never really wanted to craft for friends again.

I dont think breaking this synth is your problem, I beleive breaking your lungs is. Don't know if you smoke, BUT THAT GOES FOR ALL OF YOU WHO DO.

    Thanks dad.

Although I smoke and yes I admit it sucks I am also verrrry active in real life to at least help somewhat make up the difference. Besides sitting in front of your computer/TV all day playing FFXI isn't exactly the healthiest thing for any of us to begin with. =/

I can't watch or listen to big money synths. I just turn the volume down, turn the screen off and put the kettle on.

Not a bad day today, only lost 500k. Goin 0/12 on Behemoth Knife +1. 0/2 on Lamian Kaman and 0/2 on Cursed gloves all in a row. NOT BAD! So that puts me @ 0/32 on T1 atm. <3
