well lets hope SE adds new profitable smithign desynths or synth! Its about time they add some mob items that can be desynthed into the newer ingots (or more sought out ingots) like Adaman, scarletit, thockcha ingots!

Really should be able to desynth NQ hexed gear considering how many of them are completely worthless. NPCing for 9k when the synth cost well over 1million with no chance of sale sucks.

Yeah... or just make it so that there is a source any source for the materials that doesn't require a whole alliance fighting for 1-2 synth item drops lol

i'm currently 105 smithing with 72 gold (73 with glasses) and 72 leather....2 months ago i went 3/15 on breastplate...now i need to craft at least 3 for the LS...so i gathered mats like crazy...whored every1 in ls out on rubber harness...and friday on new moon darksday i tried my luck....the result: 4 breaks and a total of 0/20 on the -1....

never had so much bad luck like on this day...

so i thought about goin further on smithing and get it to 110 but then i realized, most of the stuff doesnt even sell if u HQ...so fuck it...gathering mats again and will try sooner or later...biggest problem is always the harness...

any hints u guys could give on day or moon phase if u actually believe in this stuff? i did in the beginning...then i thought "fuck it i hq'd stuff before on a regular day"...but for mass synthing like the breastplate i thought i don't wanna risk it..../supersadface

1-balancing act in your HQ rate, you went with a 20% HQ rate on something that should be closer to 5-7/10%
2-I've never had good luck HQing on new moon, its the only piece of crafting superstition I've given into.

Yeah I went 3/24ish 0/45ish 1/4. 15% break rate doesn't help a thing.

I do opposite moon and day when I can.

Light based synths = darks new
Dark based synths = lights full

As someone else pointed out, 3/35 = good. stop complaining, it's not the moon, or the day, it's a HQ rate of 1/16ish evening out over time.

Want to know what really works? Do a shit-ton of synths before hand..... See if things are hq'ing that day, breaking that day, or just nq'ing up a storm. Try a bunch of tier 2 synths... If you hq at a 40-50% rate, go for the tier 1s or tier 0s that cost 500x more. If you break a ton or nq far more than normal dont bother crafting; your luck wont improve. If you have phenomenal luck, chances are it will continue. Ive had some of my best days crafting on totally random days, phases, whatever just by testing first. Sure, takes more time, but its worth it in the end.

I did Haub's like that for years.

If the chains and sheets were HQing then I'd do the bodies. Probably still RNG but I had some great hauby streaks.

I won't ever craft on Thunderday, call it superstition or whatever but I've always had shit luck. I pretty much hide in my mog house every Thunderday.

The events in your SS happened to me countless times including a ~70 in a row NQ streak with many, many breaks. From what I can tell you lose the pearl every single time unless Artisan's Advantage is up and you get extremely lucky. Also you should be happy at 3/43. >_>
