...that is a relatively minor delay difference, less than 10%, for a DMG difference of much more. Anecdotally, my scythe swings are are around 30% more damaging than my Balin's swings.

Scythe is faster to 100% than GS, since the delay between scythe and great sword is less than one second. Scythe gets 100% TP at 7 hits, while GS is 8 hits.

Also GS's weaponskills aren't very good unless you're subbing /thf, or at the very least will never compare to guillotine and subbing war on merit party mobs. But, I use axe more often than scythe in merit parties.

I have the only one on Lakshmi (Server is 1/6 on them)

I like it better than the subduer because a triple attack (while only 3% of the time) is very nice.. it gives about 50% of your TP back and the damage from a 2hander on top of that is amazing.

Also the Fire Damage isnt half bad either :wink: Added effect proc'd about 30-40% of the time on Fafnir for 15-25 damage. Over all in 1 HNM fight (NMs,etc. for Light SC are the only things a DRK should use a GS for) you would probably do more damage with a Algol.


And yeah.. if your using GS in a melee burn... the PT your in should just kick you.

Have the Armada just for the set (4/5 Armada). I got Homan feet and my LS lotting rules on homan ensures that everyone that wants a homan peice in their job priority gets Homan before someone that already has one. Even after the Homan i'd probably still use Armada for the +7 ACC on mobs with really high eva. and yeah Black for WS.

As far as CoP vs. ToAU.. I actually liked some of the jailors. JoP was awesome and it actually dropped meh Prudence Torque! (In all we are about 2/30 for Torques on sea jailors.) Sea would be really really worth while if the torques actaully dropped more.

first algol I saw that dropped that was posted on these forums went to a paladin, dont remember which server, but the fact it was given to a pld speaks wonders.

Didnt bother to read any post's after this but.....

The first LS to kill cerebus was Apathy on remora. The person you seen holding the Algol was Sinus. He was on PLD. He also has DRK/WAR/many other jobs 75.

Actually i believe all this was posted in another thread concerning cerebus and our kill/sinus getting the algol, but you might have missed that ^^

Aurik knows all, his meat build mnk is superior to all job-food combinations in FFXI. That is why his superior perfect build averages 95 dmg per fist to KRT bones while my "shitty subpar" sushi build averages 90 dmg per fist to the same mobs.
