Here's what I'm reading:
I liked the (Xbox/PS2) so I'm getting a (360/PS3) but Wii looks pretty sweet so I'm getting that too.
Yeah, Nintendo won.
While I agree with your post, I think that Nintendo showing their "hand" at that time was probably the only move they could've made, I remember when I first heard about it, everyone was ranting and raving how it would suck, why has Nintendo done this, Revolution's gonna suck, fast forward to now, it's pretty much accepted and anticipated, people have had longer to stew on it and people get excited about the new ideas, if they had shown the controller at this E3 I reckon they would've taken a serious hit on console sales.
Seems like a hard decision to me if you ask me.
I believe in Sony, if PS3 is good to me I'll be a semi-Sony boy for another generation at least.
Who Dat? has an awesome sig, reminds me of filler bunny for some reason >.>
Max, if that's all you got from Who Dat's post then you really are dumb. Fanboyism GO!
I can't believe someone agreed with me whole-heartedly + read my post

I'll /snuggle with you later '-'
I don't want a blu-ray player, I want a video game machine. If I wanted a blu-ray player, I would buy a blu-ray player, which I don't want, so I won't buy.Originally Posted by Who Dat?

Xavier don't you have a XBox 360? HD-DVD player add-on is going to be a $200+ player if you ever get it. (What happens when XBox 360 games start going into the HD-DVD platform area?)Originally Posted by Xavier
You do realize the next wave of the Technology Tsumani is just on the horizon
HD-DVD (Microsoft), Blu-Ray (Sony)
[Think Beta-Max vs. VHS, but this time the consumer comes out the winner]
So you just want a game machine, well Sony is putting the new PS3 game on Blu-Ray DVD's. {I think abv. is BR-DVD}
(I may have read it wrong or the number might be high but the new DVD's for HD/BR can hold 50GB)
Sony is letting you buy 2 machines for the price of 1.
Its like saying "No, I don't want to bang a hot model and keep banging her till I lose all feeling in my body, I just want to play with her BOOBIES!!! [if bad anology/metaphor/simile/whatever I apologize, I haven't slept in 33 hours... fucking Socom 2 + YTMND ><

Wii+Xbox 360>PS3
That's as simple as it gets.
I still haven't got a dedicated DVD player cause I own a PS2, you know that no DVD player was another reason GC was second best to Sony last generation.Originally Posted by Jooeetheplatypus
If you want a gaming machine, guess what, PS3 plays games, omigosh, but guess what, it also does all this other cool shit. The days of single function machines are over, get used to it. People complain about the dumbest things sometimes I swear, I coud understand if said technology cripples the ability to develop game but I'm pretty sure it doesn't.
now this I'll agree with. Hot damnOriginally Posted by Lbelle

Microsoft has already said that the HD-DVD add-on won't be used for games, just movies.
I don't like having to buy things I don't care about.

in reality, it's price isn't that bad considering what it's abilities are and such. Should be more than 1000 dollars easy but it isn't...
lol, but seriously, no one is forcing you to buy it, but if you can afford it then do whatever, if you can't afford it don't buy it or wait till you can afford it, by that time it'll probably have gone down in price anyway.Originally Posted by Xavier

PS2 dvd player is a piece of shit, and is blown away by any $50 one you can buy nowadays.
Anyways, it comes down to this: PS3 and Xbox360 will have basically a similar lineup, and the most 3rd party support. Wii will have the nintendo games, and some inovative 3rd party games. Last generation, most people chose between xbox and ps2, and if they got a 2nd console, they got a GC (because PS2 and Xbox was pretty much redundant). This generation would've been the same, but with a $600 pricetag, few people will buy a second console if they buy PS3. Those same people that enjoyed having 2 different consoles will more likely than not chose 360 over PS3 for that reason.
So it comes down to, do you want to be locked into a $600 console and it's library, or get 2 consoles and 2 different librarys for the price of one. It's a risky gamble on Sony's part, because Microsoft is getting better every day, and Nintendo will always have a base core of fans that will buy their consoles for their games alone.

And@edgar: I know sooooooo many people who are getting a Wii and who didn't get a GCN and everybody who got a GCN is gettin a Wii. Wii is gonna kick ass.
My favorite thing on the internet is people arguing opinion. If you like Nintendo more than Sony... great but thats your opinion.
However, if you want to argue facts.. then the PS3 is by far the superior machine. Yes, it has a hefty price tag. Yes, its 3rd party supported but the simple fact is... the PS3 is a better machine.
I agree that Nintendo makes different games not necessarily innovative but certainly differenent. However, I prefer the Playstation for a number of reasons with performance being one of them.
Flame on about the DS etc. but my opinon is that I like PS better and the fact is that it is the superior machine.
How can something be 'factually' a superior machine? That is an opinion. It completely lacks Wii's functionality. Does that make it a lesser machine? No its a DIFFERENT machine numbnuts.Originally Posted by Lizardfeatures
And the GCN was more powerful than the PS2. Don't pull these 'facts' out of your ass. You are just following Sony because that is what you have done in the past.
Xbox was a far superior machine than the PS2...
